WSFA 12 News ? @wsfa12news
#BREAKING: More than 10 people are dead after at least two tornadoes hit Lee County Sunday afternoon, according to the Lee County sheriff. #alwx #12firstalert
EDIT: Lee County coroner reports 20+ dead in Lee County alone.
Two strong, violent tornadoes tore through the area of Beauregard south of the Auburn/Opelika area. These tornadoes followed almost the same path. Lee County is, of course, where Auburn University is located.
There have also been numerous tornadoes across other parts of Alabama, Georgia, Florida, and South Carolina. So, the overall death toll from this tornado outbreak will likely rise.
Say a prayer for these people.

Not good. We too easily lose track of what's important.

Saw some of the pics and videos. Looked bad. Thankfully, Auburn was never in any real danger.

That’s crazy. I hope their families make it through this tough time with as little stress as possible.

I'm not a meteorologist, but I am a weather geek. I have seen a lot of tornado damage, and from the pictures I have seen, the damage in Lee County looks consistent with an EF-4 tornado.
The National Weather Service will likely begin their storm surveys tomorrow to determine the rating.

Beauregard is about 15 miles from where I live. The death count is up to 14. All four local channels went down prior to the tornados hitting.
Here's a video of it:

Thoughts and prayers for everyone affected by today's crazy storms. We may hate on each other and troll like hell here, but all of y'all are my brethren. Please know that our hearts go out to everyone affected by today's insane weather. There is no way to adequately express our feelings for the losses of those who were in the hardest path of today's storms. College allegiances be damned - little else matters when your home and family are directly impacted by something like this.
