If Bama doesn't win the natty next year is it indication that Saban has lost his edge?

I mean, he got thoroughly out coached in the NCG against clemson. Dabo was way out in front of him. Bama wasn't prepared in any phase of the game. Should the REC begin a preliminary coach search, just to get the ball rolling?

No, he is still better than anyone else. REC just needs some photos of Dabo.

No, I’ll believe he is losing it when he misses the playoff.

No.
Because realistically:
It is so damn hard to take 85 players and win in the sec, then take them tk the playoff. Then take them back.
I know their fans perpetuate a lot of disdain on this board, but the truth is, it is hard to do. And regardless, he deserves respect as the #1 coach of all time.
I would take the field vs Alabama and win.

Lol, he’s not going anywhere.
Bama will likely win every sec game.
And they’ll win their first playoff game.
But if they play Clemson again, with Lawrence having another year, it’s going to be ugly.

Saban has reached his zenith. Nowhere to go but down from here. The game has passed him by.

He still has fight in him, but there is a level of truth to what you are saying. he just didn't have the team prepared.

From what I read on here, he's already over the hill. I assume all the non-Bama fans are happy he's still coaching? And want him to coach for another couple of years?

No but I fully expect him to win the natty next year

dude, no troll. love to get you stirred up. you take things too seriously. somehow you think an opinion on a board is going to bring down the program. Ha! u and the others need to relax and just enjoy the ride. Life is good.

I think after their second loss of the season REC might start doing some talking

NO! Saban has earned the right to leave when he's ready.

Lol yeah. Please get rid of saban. For the love of god, please get rid of saban.

Saban lost his edge?.... Not necessarily
If Clemson wins the Natty next year, I think its safe to say that at that time, there would be a new premiere program at the top of the game and probably a better overall Head Coach (Dabo) at that time.
My honest opinion is that Bama's program peaked in 2011/2012 with their back-to-back titles and we're witnessing the very slow trek back to being a solid program but not necessarily the nation's best.
2013- Florida State
2014- Ohio State
2015- Alabama
2016- Clemson
2017- Alabama
2018- Clemson
2019- ???
If Clemson wins it all next year that would give them 3 out of 4 National Titles.... a very rare accomplishment in the sport.
Bama on the other hand will drop from winning 2 out of the previous 6 down to 2 out of the previous 7.

If Bama does not win, the suicide watch will be in full force.
