Coach Saban has proven time and time again that he wins championships and bounces back from tough losses, yet many of our “fans” feel like they have the expertise to question his coaching staff decisions.
Newsflash: most fans know little about the technicalities of football, and very few of us know enough about the inner workings of the Alabama Football program to question anything Saban does.

This is a message board. People come here to vent and blow off steam. People don't have to agree with everything that Saban does. No one here pretends to know more than Coach Saban, but we are all allowed to have our own opinions.
If you think this is an Alabama problem, why don't you look at other message boards. EVERY sports team with a message board has this going on. It's been going on before the internet, it was just called water cooler talk at work.

I agree. I’m not happy about a lot of things, but you’d think we’ve struggled for years under him the way people are freaking out.
I know me personally, I thought we might contend for a Natty or two while he was here. The last 12 years has been incredible and beyond my wildest dreams.
He may or may not win anything else but how can you NOT give him the benefit of the doubt here.

Message board fans, for the most part, are the worst fans of each team. The cesspool type which you described do not deserve Saban but the majority of Bama fans are not like the typical message board maggots.

This is absolutely true. I know so many Alabama fans who don’t go near a Message Board, and they don’t say/do anything close to what I see on these boards. People just come on here to frick around and vent.
I know everyone is fricking around, and nothing anyone says makes me think they are that way in real life. This is nothing but a re-modeled AOL chat room.

Everyone knows this. I'm sure the heads at Disney/ESPN know more about running a company than me, but that didn't stop them from launching the Longhorn Network that basically every average joe predicted would flop.

Don't tell me what I do or do not deserve slick. Especially don't do it because you are butthurt about what you read on the internet. Nobody deserves Nick Saban as their coach but I suffered through Dubose and the ncaa and Mike Shula so I won't apologize for Saban even if I do question his decision making. He is not God and he isn't perfect.

That's why he gets paid the big bucks and we are here. But I do have to point out that he wouldn't get those bucks if not for a whole lot of people like us taking this level of interest in what he does.
Goes with the territory. He doesn't read this board before he makes decisions I am sure. His track record speaks for itself he doesn't need any of us to defend him.

I trust Saban but he isn't infallible.
But I'm extremely happy with the job he has done at Alabama. We would have given an arm for this kinda year during Shula's tenure. Hell even Bear wasn't this good consistently. He had a few down years and the program was in trouble by the time he retired

This is a message forum, hoss. Discussing our opinions on various happenings is what we do and no one- not even Nick Saban- is above some legitimate questioning, criticism, or disagreement, at times. If you have a problem with that, maybe message forums aren’t for you.
But, *I* don’t deserve to have to log onto this forum and see some pretentious jackass telling me what I don’t deserve for daring to have a valid thought or opinion. Get out of here with that trash.

But, I can assure you that every person of sound mind above the age of 4 who has ever seen a football knew that fake field goal was coming Monday night. And everyone of them above the age of 2 knew it wasn’t going to work after we saw the defense in field goal safe for 10 seconds before the snap.
That’s just an example to highlight the fact that coaches aren’t above criticism or questioning from fans- doesn’t matter who they are.

This site is the king of people who act as though they know about football and then open their moths and prove they don’t.
Saban has forgotten more about football than the combined knowledge of this board. Guy could give us a year with a team, take his for a week and prepare for us, drink all the night before and beat us bad while hungover.

I think Saban is on par with Coach Bryant: both belong in the discussion of GOAT. But neither is infallible.
I’ll give you but one example: not using timeouts before halftime, which Saban stubbornly refuses to do time after time, is completely idiotic. A mediocre coach at Slippery Rock does better. It’s just an idiosyncrasy CNS has and he’s apparently not going to change it. It drives me and a lot of other fans crazy. Doesn’t mean I think less of him as a coach. It’s just a blind spot he has. And I’m going to bitch about it every time he does it.
