What % of the blame goes to the coaches?

I feel like most of it does. I am disappointed in the game plan we brought into this game. The redzone play calling was an embarrassment, Idk what the plan on def was at all beside get as little pressure on the qb as possible and hang our def out to dry(what happened to all those exotice blitz on 3rd down), and the fake fg which to me is the handing over the trophy to Clemson call.

I mean it was an all around shite kicking. Blame everyone.

Yeah, lots of blame to go around and lots of props deserved to Clemson. No one else has ever made Bama look like that under Saban.

I'm not sure the percentage but it was the worst coached game of Saban's tenure at Alabama. Taking 3 TOs to the Locker Room before the half set the tone for the second half. It was effectively waving the white flag.
But there's a long list of coaching mistakes.
- Putting D. Harris in at the goal line instead of Jacobs
- Fake FG
- Redzone playcalling
- 3rd & 4th Down Playcalling
- Not working any ref to get a call
Saban looked shellshocked last night.

Clemson was old us. Ruthlessly exploiting the other team, making every big play, attacking for 60 minutes, not giving an inch.
Yea that sucked.
Yea that sucked.

Ya Bama needs to get that mean streak back.

Easier said than done. It's been gone since the 2016 defense left (and yea I realize we won a title since then).

I don't understand why we didn't get any pressure on TL. That guy can't beat you with his legs and he can be rattled. Q had an OK game but where the frick was the rest of the Front 7?

Where does the team's motivation come from? Does it come individually? Each player creates his own motivation.
Or is it a cumulative emotion, where the team has motivation?
In either case, who is responsible for it?
Regardless, it's motivation what Bama had little to none.
And that is where I'd place the bulk of the blame.

Gotten soft running the candy arse offense we all used to make fun of.

We need to go old school Rocky on that arse. Get back to bama football. Hard nose make their arse quit football.

I kept waiting for someone....anyone....to make a Reuben type hit that would spark some energy from our side. Nothing.
That's why I'm disappointed in Saban today. I know a coach needs to remain calm but I didn't see any passion from him last night.

No Reuben type players have emerged. We have a lot of talented guys but they aren't to the Reuben level yet.

Here’s what I don’t understand. Our game plan wasn’t that bad; we were moving the football almost at will. But we’d get inside the red zone and try to get too cute and run something exotic that wouldn’t work.
On defense, we had no answers and we seemed afraid to try anything. Any corner blitzes? Any jailbreak blitzes? Could it be any worse than what we did do? We would bring the LBs sometimes but they never got there. They don’t even blitz well.

100% of the blame goes to the coaches, but not all in this game.
Both the offense and the defense regressed during the year and the coaches had no answer.
Saban was in a tough spot having to promote Tosh or lose him. Kirby is recruiting so well that he didn't have much of a choice.

I don't think we had one of those all year.

Whatever else you want to say about Foster, he was a savage on the field and a big hit from him could change the game momentum. LSU OT, Ole Miss game.....

I wasn't even asking for some to play like Reuben for the whole game. Just make a play or hit that would spark some energy/emotion from our team.

We gifted them a pick TD and pissed away 25 points on four drives where we reached 1st and goal but only scored 3 points total. 7 + 25 = 32. We lost by 28. And we threw a pick in the red zone on another drive. We could've (should've) won that game.
I was very disappointed in our defensive plan and calls. Venables did a great job with the variety of disguised blitzes. We were very vanilla, rushing 3 most of the time and showing our blitzes when we did call them. We made it easy for Clemson's offense. Our goal-to-go offensive play calling was very bad.
This loss was not like the final score. And it falls much more on a poor job of in-game coaching than on the players or anything else, imo.

My point is Reuben wasn't Reuben, an all-time great Bama player, when he first got to Tuscaloosa. Don't get me wrong he had the talent but Reuben had to grow into being great. Give these young players we have the opportunity to do the same. Kaho, for instance, looks like he has the makings of another great ILB.
