As much as I don't want to see it, Clemson is likely your 2018 National Champion

If you look at the numbers, Clemson is better than Alabama in every offensive AND defensive category except for scoring offense.

Oddly though, Alabama can beat Clemson if they can keep their quarterback upright.

They also haven't played anyone with a pulse this year. They play in a conference devoid of competition and their best opponent so far this season has been NC State.

What? No they aren't.

Offensive Yards Per Play
Alabama - 7.92
Clemson - 7.37

S&P+ Offense
Alabama - #2
Clemson - #7

Total yardage is a silly way to decide who is better at something.

Maybe. It certainly doesn't hurt your odds when your schedule is one giant bye week into the final.

It's not Clemson fault that teams in the ACC had a few top 10 programs just a few years ago that imploded. That's just not our problem. Dabo did a good job scheduling mighty SEC programs to compensate and over the years we have done pretty good...

The playoffs should have "exposed" Clemson but all it has done is validate that we belong. Alabama is the only SEC team that has really been the gold standard and we even got a win off of them.

This... S&P+ at least accounts for schedule differential... Late in the year, Clemson's schedule was more comparable to UCF than Bama... Hard to use total stats with that kind of discrepancy.

Your reasons as to why they will be champs makes me think you need a lobotomy.

Ground breaking stuff.

Bama hasn’t played Oklahoma yet. Everybody’s assuming that Bama is going to just show up and beat OU as a forgone conclusion is really worrying me man. The masses are typically full of shite. More people need to hyp up Oklahoma.

Yep, they played teams like Wake, UNC, UVA, NC State, FSU

Bama could have named their score against most ACC teams.

A&M is the best team Clemson has played and A&M should have won that game.

Clemson is definitely improved. They'll probably score a TD this year against BAMA.
Last year, they had no chance, even when BAMA turned it over on their 25.
Taters been chewing their bottom lip about it all year.

Nice troll post. Bama will be favored by 7-9 if the matchup happens (unless Tua is hurt).

Tua with all of their weapons on offense is a bad matchup for us. Our OL is still suspect at spots. It will take Clemson's best game all year to win that one.

This is where I begin to question one's true college football acumen.

You must stop and think before starting a thread using stats to bolster your love of Clemson.

They play in the ACC.

Bama plays in the SEC.

See the difference?

Know the difference.

Clemson will be lucky to get past the first round and they hope and pray that we never expand to an 8 team playoff.

Clemson is rivaled only by Georgia in terms of competing with us the best over the last few years. Doesnt really matter what conference they are in, they've proven they can walk on the field with us and not be intimidated.
