He wasn't as powerful as he is now at LSU. Surely you know that.

He knows better. If he can't buy more talent, it would never work.

Make no mistake, if Jones wanted him he would go get him. Dude don't give a shite.

What would you say is the total cost for what we pay our players in a year?

Atleast an average of 100,000 a piece for the top ones (including moving families, family scholarships, etc) . Not counting signing bonuses.

Would make sense for him to pull a Pete Carroll and get out right before the hammer drops.
Like all criminals, the REC got greedy and didn’t know when to stop. Alabama was already on top of the college football world for the whole decade, but it’s never enough so they paid Tua and his whole family to move from Hawaii to Alabama. Everyone knows the Tua situation stinks, and it is going to bring unwanted attention.
The Melt, Day 8.

The NCAA rulebook was pretty much written because of the shady things Bama has been doing going all the way back to the Bear days. Alabama has historically been known as one the dirtiest programs in college football. This is fact. So now when the program has an unprecedented run of success never seen before you think it’s all of sudden being done cleanly? History doesn’t always repeat but it at least rhymes. This story is going to end the same as USC’s “greatest dynasty ever” ended. This is just reality.
On the bright side most fan bases say the ride was totally worth it after the hammer drops. At least Bama got their money’s worth out it. Ole Miss sold their soul for 1 Sugar Bowl. And even they say it was worth it.

You idiots don't even know that it is NCAA legal to find a job for the parents of a player, assuming it meets certain criteria. You can be sure Bama has had it all checked out with the NCAA; they have one of the strictest compliance depts in the NCAA. You can't burp without their approval - even Saban.

Jerry and Saban would trade knuckles.

ETA: Let me fix it so you can understand. Bama bad. Saban bad. LSU gud. Does that make it easier for your cousin-wife to read?
ETA2: Please don’t beat your cousin-wife if LSU wins next Saturday. If you keep doing that she will eventually burn your single wide and Charger to the ground.

It's a shock to LSU fans, but his opinion is respected in the NFL.
Definitely a shock to me that the opinions of a coach who went 1 and 15 in his only year to coach in the league are respected.

quote:Are you a liar or a moron? Saban took a 4-12 team and went 9-7, gaining votes for NFL Coach of the Year. The following year, his last, his defense went from 18th to 4th in the NFL, but because he had to resort to Cleo Lemon and Joey Harrington as his QBs, his team went 6-10. They did shutout NE, NE's last shutout to this day. The next coach, LSU's own Cam Cameron, took that team to a 1-15 record.
Definitely a shock to me that the opinions of a coach who went 1 and 15 in his only year to coach in the league are respected
So, the year preceding and following Saban's 2 year reign Miami went 5-27, while Saban went 15-17. In reality, NE fans were glad to see him go, Miami fans were livid, which is why they resent him to this day. They knew a good coach when they saw one.
