I'm sorry, but it seems like he waste 1 down every possession. When Lock works the middle, we get 5-6 yard gains or more, but 4 fly routes and reverses for no gain. Am I wrong in what I'm seeing?

He’s called a shitty game. Vanilla Bs mixed in with HS level trick play attempts and throwing to set up the run instead of the other way around.
Doesn’t help though that AO disappears in ever big game.

But AO is a match up nightmare down the middle as we saw against Memphis, why isn't Dooley calling it? And off subject, the secondary still sucks. Is Walters fired yet?

Prevent nothing defense the last drive, crap offence the whole game, gave up on the middle of the field, gave up on the Tight End. Lock falls further in the draft.

Get a first down and immediately run it to the right. Everyone caught on after the second time bro.

Yeah. We noticed that at the game as well.

Do people really still believe this? AlbertO can't get open against athletic LBs.
The only time AlbertO gets open is when there is a bust in the opposing D.

Unless the LB is 6'5" and covering the slot receiver AO is open. A fast 6'1" LB still can't cover a ball thrown high or over the shoulder like we saw over and over in Heupals scheme. And covering him with a safety in the slot, well same thing only easier.

I don’t care for this coaching staff at this point, but I can’t believe Dooley dialed up all those flies to Knox. Those plays were baffling and I think Lock had something to do with that.

I think Navy mentioned this in another post, but whats crazy is if you go back and look at the film you see that Knox was open. On three pass plays he had a 1-3 step lead on the DB and Lock either throwing off his back foot, waiting to long, or totally missing him led to incompletions.

2 of them also hit Knox in the hands in the first half.

I remember one hit Knox in the hands that he should’ve caught. If he led him it would’ve been a touchdown. Locks footwork leaves a lot to be desired which probably falls on the coaches.

Overall on Lock I think he lacks making presnap reads (Heupel created that), touch, and footwork which kills us in intermediate passing situations which makes us struggle in moving the chains.

Then he is a terrible route runner because I have been watching him closely the last few weeks and the dude does not get open. I'm pretty sure a 5'10, 150lbs slow white guy could take him out of a game now.

Heupel did not do much better when playing against rank teams in the SEC and what about the Purdue game last year? It was on Heupel! I am glad Heupel is gone. He is not that good. Also he hate to recruit and that is why he is at UCF. Does not need to do much recruiting and let his DC do the recruiting.

The first pass Lock threw Knox 2yds out of bounds. He did adjust and get his hands on it but he stood no chance of getting a foot in.
The Knox got one hand on the second pass but thrown late and too high.
The 3rd throw was out of bounds.

One of the worst called games I’ve ever seen.
quote:he's had trash for coaches. He should have went to Alabama. Given the QBs they had before this year he would have won the heisman. Then he may or may not have flamed out in the NFL.
And Drew Lock is trash.
Cost himself millions by coming here. Kind of a trend with this place in general

He’s just not that good. Some of you guys are going to have to reconcile that against “coaches suck”
At some point the player has to produce. Perfect example of him not having a feel for the game was the 3rd and 2 from the Kentucky game. He’s told not to throw it unless it’s wide open and he does the opposite.
No first downs in the second half is every bit as much on the players, including the QB, as it is on the coaches.
