Football is four quarters. Y'all lost to Maryland in the 4th quarter and you tried losing to Oklahoma, too.

Everyone is ignoring one other team. An undefeated UCF won't necessarily get in under your scenario, but I think they would get in over a one-loss Oregon.

Let’s say Florida wins the cocktail party and wins out, finishes 11-1
Let’s say Kentucky wins out, finishes 11-1
Let’s say LSU wins out, including a W over Bama, finishes 11-1
And finally, Bama finishes 11-1 with their only loss to LSU

Hypothetically, there is no way all 4 of those teams are 11-1.

Unpossible.

11-1 Notre Dame

Hate to say it but they would have easily have played a superior schedule than Alabama.

Uh, not necessarily. At the end of the season, they may have played only one team in the final top 25...Michigan...and they will have lost possibly to a team with a losing record.

Alabama will possibly have played three teams in the top 25...LSU, aTm, and MSU...and they likely would have lost to what will be one of the top three teams in the country.

OU would be favored if they met again. they have the revenge factor and a new DC

No way UT beats them twice.

God almighty, why do people cook up these imaginary playoff scenarios every year that will never happen?

The way they’ve voted in the past, Bama would probably be out in this scenario because they aren’t conference champions. Even if they’ve looked the best, I think the committee would do more to try to go based on resume and not the eye test
Uhh, do you remember last year?

It's amazing to me how many posters don't even know the Big12 has a championship game.

You better learn to like the imaginary scenarios, because from now on that's the only time UGA gets in.

In this scenario they choose SEC champ. No doubt about it.

What if Kentucky is the SEC champ and Alabama finishes 11-1, having lost only to LSU 17-16? Would the committee pick Alabama over UK?

Gotcha. I still don’t think they’re automatically in. OU and Texas can both win out but they’ll still be left out for an undefeated: Notre Dame, Clemson, Ohio State and SEC champion.

The “If Oklahoma wins out they’re in. Period” just isn’t true. They need help.

Who would the committee choose if they had 11-1 Alabama (only loss to sec champion), 11-1 Florida (only loss to SEC runner up, beat sec champion and UGA)

The answer is, and will always be, Alabama.

Under your assumption, I think Florida would get the last spot over bama because of strength of schedule.

They could all finish the regular season 11-1.

In that scenario, though, LSU and Kentucky would play in the SECCG. The winner ends up 12-1, the loser 11-2, and the SEC has two 11-1 teams as well.

The more nightmare scenario for the SEC is that...
LSU beats Bama and wins out.
Bama loses to LSU and wins out.
Someone with 2 losses wins the east.
East wins SECCG.

Does a 2 loss SEC champion get in?
Does a one lose Bama get in?

So was last year "imaginary"?

And we"ll be back again before UF sniffs the playoffs.

Dude, you lost to UK at HOME and gave up 300+ yards rushing.

So you're stating with 100% certainty that Notre Dame's schedule at the end of the year will have been tougher than Alabama's.

Wow. You really are this fricking stupid. And here all along, most of us thought it was just an act.
