I know many are just negi on Gus...but in the past I have always expected his teams to play hard, etc...How many are a bit worried we lay an egg in this game? I hate to say it, but it feels like that type of game.

-3 major injuries on the O which has struggled when they were healthy
-a D starting to get press for being ranked #3 nationally in scoring D playing a team that is terrible trying to score (feels like that never ends well for an Auburn team)
-a coaching staff that seems committed to continue doing what is not working at all...in the past I have defended the coaches because I believe its mostly about players but I also can't wrap my mind around not trying something different even if only for a few series to say "that didn't work either".

Upvote for worried

Downvote for confidence we turn the corner this week

Gus' teams always seem to play their best when we pretty much all have decided that the season is done. After Mercer last year I was definitely ready to start looking for a new HC.

I could see another 3-2 game. We are getting to Tubberville bad on offense.

We will win because state won’t score more than 13 points. That speaks more about state than auburn.

The offensive line will kill us this year.

This is how I feel. Hell, we may run the table until Bama, but that is more on how shitty those teams are.

I have no input or control.

It’s like watching a bad movie, but I can’t bring myself to turn it off in spite of the very predictable scenes that recurr over and over.

I hope we win, but this offense has been putrid at home. I don’t see 56 points on the road.

I think we can win, but it is not a given.

We should win easily. It won't be pretty put we'll win by 10 or more.

State will try some big plays to generate points and end up turning it over.

Auburn by 7, defense kills it and State is a dumpster fire.

Dunno, but one crazy thing is even though we are only a fg favorite on the road making the game almost a pickem, fans will go beserk and lose their mind with the fire Gus, raise money for a buyout, etc if we lose.

Sorta like the difference between total meltdown and doom for the entire program or moving along as a near top 5 team will probably come down to a single play vs MSU in starkville. That is ridiculous, but reality with our fans right now.

This game has a make or break feel to it. If we can get a convincing road win then it should propel us all the way to the DSOR.

If we lose, then all hell breaks loose like it did after LSU last year.

One thing in our favor is the discord going on in Starkville at the moment. Take a peek over at Elite Dawgs. A sizable portion of the MSU fan base has given up on Moorhead. Talk of discontent in the locker room, losing the team and fanbase, culture issues. If we can get a score early then a few stops then we might break them.

It’s mainly because of gus. He came to auburn as an offensive genius. He has regressed to an offensive retard. He doesn’t coach defense, so what do we need him for if he can’t coach a competent offense in year 6?

We've played 5 games and offense has gotten progressivey worse. Not sure why anyone thinks we magically start improving.

It is what it is at this point. Win or lose from here put it will be unholy either way. Thank goodness for defensive and special teams.

Sounds exactly like LSU last year. GusShortBus blew that game, and I'm really worried about this one.

Sounds like LSU last season before they beat us.

Hopefully we hit our stride this game and at least make the middle of the season interesting.

I'm used to mediocrity in the beginning/end, things will get bad if we're fully mediocre throughout the entire season.

Not concerned about this defense, they’re the real deal. The only way they suck is if the offense lays an egg and the defense gets fed up/worn out from being on the field all night.

Offensively, there’s a very huge chance we suck tonight.

Hell, I'm already scared to death having to play a Tennessee team with a chip on their shoulder and 2 weeks to prepare next weekend.
