We decided to hit the beach and forget our troubles. Was at the game and my ears are still ringing (Just kidding) but it was loud and electric. Not sure why we are not running the ball more because our off line is really made for that instead of reaction to what a defense appears to be set up for.
I understand what Moorhead is working on for the future but this o-line is not ready for that. We are slow reacting instead of pile driving which is what we are set up to do. Very disappointed.
Go ahead and take your shots, right now we deserve it.

I don’t think anyone is taking shots anymore...we have moved on to simply feeling sorry for you, as per usual.

This.
I have been critical of Fitzgerald the past few weeks, but I just rewatched y'alls last drive against Florida and felt really bad for him. He's obviously extremely limited in what he can do as a passer and your coach is not helping him out at all. The offensive line can't do what he's asking of them and the receivers and QB are really out of sync, and when they do connect, there's a 50% chance the receiver drops the ball.
I'm not sure if you caught this, but Florida blitzed eight, EIGHT!, guys on the last play. Y'all were in 4 wide. They were so confident in your inability in the passing game that they didn't even care they had one defender covering 2 receivers on the right side of the field.

Lol year Grantham just went nuts by the end of the game once he knew Fitz wasn't picking up where the blitz was coming from. He does hide it well. The last play we showed coverage on the right side but full blitzed so Fitz was looking left at the single coverage. He never saw the right side fully coming nor progressed to the middle because the left side routes didn't go over the middle. He got destroyed and didn't see it till the last second.

Hopefully our turn to make a run. Y'all definitely owe us some wins.
At least you're not Tennessee.

You have no idea what you are talking about. The LSU guy nailed it. Fitz has been put in a terrible situation because our O-line is being asked to react instead of just taking a play and running with it.
This is a veteran O-line, all back, a line that gave up fewest sacks last year. They have been coached until this year to pile drive a running game and now they are asked to pass protect.
Look how few times we run the ball. Kylin Hill averaged 4.6 yards per carry. Aeries Williams ran only 3 times for 31 yards. That's over 10 yards a carry. What MSU fans are asking is why are we not doing what our strength is?
Nick Fitzgerald is being asked to think too much and now he can't run because of the hesitation. Even our handoffs are slow developing. The talent is there, it's not being used properly. Once again, our O-line is for pile driving a run game and when you keep doing that it opens up a passing game. The offense has gotten way too complex and it's killing us pure and simple. Do you think Fitz forgot how to run the ball himself?
Even in our game vs Kentucky, our RB's got a total of 12 carries. What MSU should be doing it going back to old school and putting in a running play and not asking Fitz or our O-line to overthink shite and react to the defense and just run the damn ball. That hesitation and confusion only helps a defense to get that cruicial jump. End of story.

Your coach is too smart for your players. Just fire JoMo and move on to the next poor soul.

SNITCH U...karma always evens the score and makes things right. you snitches may or may not make another meaningful first down the rest of the season. but hey...you crippled Ole Miss, which is all you really care about anyway. so theres that.

I think he's saying basically the same thing as you, just using an example instead of a generality.
Your coaches are putting Fitz in a terrible situation by putting him in situations where the opposing defense can send 8 guys and it's on Fitz to read where the blitz is coming from and make a quick decision after the snap. Something he is clearly incapable of doing. It doesn't really matter what the O line issue are (and yes, there are some). No offensive line going to be able block 8 blitzers. That's 100% on the QB to make a quick decision and get rid of the ball. Instead, at the snap, Fitz sees the safety blitzing right at the snap, but still looks left, where the coverage is 1 on 1, instead of right, where you had 2 receivers covered by 1 db.
In the example of this play, it was a bad job by Fitz (and probably your coaches). But you're right in that there are countless examples where the offensive line loses 1 on 1s and are probably being expected to do things that they're not really capable of.

This may be the dumbest response I've ever read here. And that's saying something. Did State supply hookers for Ole Miss recruits? Did State supply loaner cars to Ole Miss players? You're just an example of when a small-time school tries to even the playing field with the big boys of the conference. Need I remind you what yall did to Jackie Sherrill?
