Question: What was the most notable instance of Saban being out-coached during his career?

And by out-coached, I mean someone who out-smarted Saban strategically and tactically throughout the course of a game not just a singular play or decision that worked out in their favor. For example, I thought Spurrier thoroughly out-coached Saban when Bama lost to South Carolina back in 2010. It seemed like every offensive play South Carolina drew up in high leverage situations worked out perfectly for them that day.

To me it was win they play Georgia in the SEC championship game several years ago. His clock management was horrible that game and so was his play calling that game. Mark Rick actually out coached him that game but save and still managed to pull the victory.

Ohio State in the playoff game and Spurrier in 2010 are the two that stick out to me by a mile

Bama at LSU, 2002. Franchione made Saban look like a retard that day. Truly, looking back, a bizarre, incomprehensible occurrence.

That LSU team wasn't the same after they lost Mauck in the Florida game. Bama was actually pretty good that year too.

If we're going back to his LSU days, Richt outcoached him in 2004. LSU blitzed all day, left their corners on islands, and were repeatedly torched for it. May have been the best single game coaching job of Richt's Georgia career.

LSU 2010 and 2011. Miles owned him for two games until Saban realized the mad hatter stuff was a media fiction and all he had to do was stack the box and Les would not throw it.

2003 LSU vs UF

I remember LSU was really undisciplined and had some weird offensive play calling that game. Saban was very conservative on defense that game. I think UF ran a double hitch route all game and he never adjusted the coverage.

Lost to the damn Zooker of all people.

2010 Bama vs USC

Never understood why he didn't run the ball more in that game. He had such a loaded backfield.
