Sly Croom coached circles around little Nicky...Hes nothing when he doesnt stack the deck with talent...He always gets molested by people with near equal talent levels
Any specific examples from that game? You actually remember anything about it?
The Textbook 5 were still suspended from that game...which included A-A center Antoine Caldwell and one other starting OL. In addition, with :20 seconds left in the half, JPWilson threw a 100+ yard pick six, making the halftime score 10-9 MSU, instead of 12-3 or 16-3 Bama.
But yeah, Croom coached circles around Saban.

And by out-coached, I mean someone who out-smarted Saban strategically and tactically throughout the course of a game not just a singular play or decision that worked out in their favor. For example, I thought Spurrier thoroughly out-coached Saban when Bama lost to South Carolina back in 2010. It seemed like every offensive play South Carolina drew up in high leverage situations worked out perfectly for them that day.
He was really out-coached by Lane Kiffin in '09. The blocked kick saved the win for Bama (actually, two blocked kicks saved him)...there is no way his team should have been within striking distance of that UT team.

To be honest, it was probably 2001 against Ole Miss. Based on his own comments about that game in the past, and I think Nick would agree with me.

Not sure if Coach Saban has been out coached.
Many of the game Alabama has lost was by the other team getting lucky breaks (see AU 2010, 2013, Ole Miss 2014, 2015), a player or players just getting hot at the right time (see USC 2010, Florida 2008, Clemson 2016 or Ohio State 2014), or the Alabama team made mistakes on the field that cost them
I am not making excuses as the those teams deserved to win, and the ball takes funny bounces. Coach Saban does have a very good game plan going into the games, and has top assistant coaches. He is a far superior coach than any coach he faces on the other sideline, and continues to prove it. No coach works harder and spends more time looking at all aspects of the program than Coach Saban
There is a reason why Alabama has been involved with every national title since he started except 2007, 2010, and 2013

the answer is not Utah. We had half our o-line out for that game. That was bigger than coaching.

I heard Bert once cut infront of him at SEC media days in the cafeteria. He got out hustled and out coached that day.

Oklahoma smashed Bama in the 2013 Cotton Bowl.
That was an embarrassment for the conference.

Bama at LSU, 2002. Franchione made Saban look like a retard that day. Truly, looking back, a bizarre, incomprehensible occurrence.
I remember the last Bama drive before the half. All sprint draws, all the way down the field for a TD. Saban refused to believe that the next play would be another sprint draw and stayed in a pass D all the way.

However that was not caused by OU out coaching Alabama

A ball bouncing off the helmet into the arms of another player (for example) is luck. There is no other was to describe it. How you describe it as good or bad is whether it happens to your team or your opponent.

2001 Ole Miss. LSU lost 35-24, LSU led 24-21 going into 4th quarter.
2004 Georgia. All I remember in my drunken state was that we had no chance from the first quarter.

2008 Bama was undefeated til the SECCG and UF beat him. He did return the favor the next year when we were undefeated.
He wasn't out coached by USC in 2010...I predicted that loss before season started...Bama was loaded in 2009 and lost a shite ton of defensive talent to the NFL. They didn't have a stockpile of 5 stars back then...and even if they had..USC had more experienced players and wanted revenge for losing to Bama in 2009. shite happens.
In 2003 Zooks UF team had lost to Miamuh and Moo State as I recall and we had our backs to the wall when we played Saban and LSU.
