He shot it down during the presser.

I get it though, it’s been so long since we have seen a team fight like that.

The only time I would consider this in the neighborhood of acceptable at Kyle is if we clinch a division title or some shite. Certainly not after a loss.

It was the students and they appreciated the effort the team gave. Not a big deal to me

This. People are just excited. It'll die off after the honeymoon period is over.

Unless Jimbo wins a national title, in which case we'll be building him a statue almost as tall as E. King Gill's

Shoot, if he wins us a title I'd be open to changing the name to Jimbo Field.

But on a serious note, chanting his name after a loss is a bad look. i'm also kind of concerned at how a lot of the fanbase is almost treating this loss as a win. i hope the players don't pick up on that. i'm proud of the way they played, and there's definitely positives to take away from the game but ultimately we lost. luckily jimbo wasn't having any of that, so i'm sure the team wasn't either.

Why? We have had our expectations beaten down for years, it’s nice to finally have hope again.

I get the whole “act like you have been there” thing but we aren’t really known for that sort of subtleness as a fanbase.

I get it, and I’m victim of it too. I guess I just don’t want the football team to feel that way, and I don’t think jimbo will let them.

I don’t think so either.

And frankly from his perspective it doesn’t mean the same thing.

From our perspective we just took the biggest risk in the history of our program hiring him. If he really wanted to mail it in like the LSU fan fantasy we would be fricked for 10+ years easy.

That chant was us celebrating that we have hope we didn’t just completely tank our program. That this huge risk that everyone else outside Aggieland talks down might be looked back on as brilliance.

It’s been so long since we have had a bet like that pay off after so many it was more us patting ourselves on the back than Jimbo worship.

The risk was the long term commitment. In gereral Jimbo represents lowest risk in any possible hire short of Saban.

Fran felt like a really safe bet at one point and Jimbo had a really bad year last year.

Not saying you are wrong, just saying it felt good to not have to wait three years to see progress and have our decision be validated.

Eh, I don't mind it. I think most were like me--going in expecting to get embarrassed, and damn near winning in a game no one gave us a chance feels damn good. If we were depressed and pissy, we'd have had our expectations WAY higher than merited after only having the NW St. game to go off of.

If Jimbo is worth his salt as a coach, he'll keep 'em grounded no matter what the fanbase does/says.

The Jimbo chant made us meh. The Bull shite chant during the Clemson game was Gold.

They could jazz it up with the J-I-M-B-O and Jimbo was his name-o sing along.
