For all the great stuff you could say about LSU last week, this matchup brought back a lot of questions. We see the glass half empty side from those who felt LSU would not have a good season this year.

If you are a top 25 team with SEC championship dreams, an FCS should not be within 200 yards of you in total offense, much less 100 when the horn sounds. Take away the hail mary and that stat is almost even.

LSU DL was dominant as they should have been.

I thought Burrow looked fine. His problem were the guys around him.

Your Oline looked overmatched at times by an FCS school. Once Burrow was either sacked or pressured into an incompletion on 3 consecutive downs.

How legit is this team? Question still to be answered. Guess we'll see Saturday.

How legit?

LSU is somewhere between not sucking and not great.

Every piece of this team is legit minus the Oline...missing three starters and it shows big time. Our LT will be back this game, not for sure on the other two. Other than the Oline, this is a pretty damn good team. ST/D/Kicking game have looked extremely well coached and we have not turned the ball over once. I think this will be a competitive game with AU, but have to give them the edge in JH. Looking forward to it

We got up 17-0 and literally just fell asleep, it was awful. Whole lot of not really caring on the offensive side of the football. Now the OL was in total disarray with a bunch of new faces (We get Charles back at LT next weekend) but still, it was a plain bad product against an outmatched team. Should have won at least 45-0 if they put in above minimal effort, that goes with the coaching staff too. What's sad is 1 of our whopping 4 TDs came on a hail mary at the end of the 1st half

Even if you took away a play, which you dont, LSU had SE LA at like negative yards for the entire 1st half.

It 100% looked like shite the second half, but our guys just were walking around. Not into it and we shut her down again in the second half.

I dont know why the coaches are doing this or not in their arse, but it is what it is.

With Miami the week before and AU next week, I expected some less than motivated play. But not that much.

Defense did what they were supposed to. The offensive line got beat, not just on one or two plays, but all freaking game. Our passing game has no routes to neutralize a pass rush. It's almost like our offensive coaches don't know what a blitz is.

LSU wins in an ugly squeaker: 21-20.

The Rant will melt down the next day as usual.

Until LSU has a decent offensive scheme, one in which more than two receivers run routes on any one play, they will struggle mightily. This shite show was entirely on the offensive coaching staff and O.

LSU is going 7-5. I didn't think Miami was that bad and Florida is not good either. I said that those 2 possible losses.

To the pit of misery for you for bringing up rational thoughts regarding LSU.

Both starting tackles were out of a already subpar OL. We get one of those back this week but I don’t see us scoring much vs Auburn. Good thing is we don’t turn the ball over and the defense and special teams have played great.

It’s going to be hard to beat a very good Auburn team for sure

Saturday is gonna be very interesting. And frankly a much more important game to the league going forward than is being discussed.

LSU fans are teetering between complete ecstasy and agony right now. They are aware that their offensive coordinator may be complete garbage, as AU fans have been telling them from day 1. That along with a qb playing his first SEC road game against a front 7 of complete savages at a furious Jordan Hare out for blood to avenge an embarrassing collapse that kept us out of the playoffs and well... not an ideal situation for a jittery purple and gold fanbase that is already mentally unstable.

On the other hand, LSU is 2-0 with a top 10 win over a questionable Miami and will trot out one of the best defenses in the nation. AU did turn the ball over 3 times Saturday and with a D like LSU has, you always have a chance.

This game could send LSU fans into an epic melt that could put the tenure of O into an unrecoverable tailspin (sorta the opposite of how last years game vs AU gave him a reprieve).

Or a win and no less than 2 million "we comin" posts and gifs will absolutely inundate and swamp this site making in almost inoperable and meaningless for days.

Kind of reminded me of Georgia v. Nicholls State 2016.

Good thread btw. I agree with all your points. It's just like most of us thought at the beginning of the year. Defense great. Offense not great. Not because of Burrow though but because the OL is beyond trash.

LSU is gonna lose at least 5 games this season, if not more. Lots of work to be done in building an offensive line.
