C'mon guys, you've all seen 'm doing it. I didn't even realize this was a thing until 2006.
8 days from now will be no different. Auburn and Alabama,arm in arm, rooting for Auburn.
Why is this?

You could not be more wrong. Every Bama fans I know hates the barn and respects LSU. The respect was mutual until Saban came to Tuscaloosa, now it's hatred on the LSU side. I remember during our down years, the west went thru the Barn/Lsu game. Now I watch the game to determine which team is gonna give us a run for the west.

There'll be all kinds of responses, but the reality is a lot of Bama and AU fans don't have a problem rooting for their in-state rival against other opponents.
It's pretty common for immediate and extended families to have both AU and UA alums and/or fans. I'm a UA alum, but my two sons went to smaller colleges in Alabama. One of them is a UA fan 1st, but pulls for AU too. My other son married an AU grad, so he's more of an AU fan 1st, but roots for UA too.

As both Bama and Awbs have responded, no true fan of either is going to pull for the other.
I’m not worried about LSU so it will be good for Bama if LSU beats Auburn. Not going to happen but I’ll be pulling for your Tigahs.

I can't speak for other Bama fans, but for me, I can't pull for AU. I respect them as a University but a die hard Bama fan does not cheer for AU and vice versa.
