Who said anything about Auburn not wanting to play Bama every year? It's Bama that doesn't want to lose their rent-a-win against UT and replace it with the Iron Bowl.

From 2013:
quote:

March, 2013
USA Today

Texas and rival Texas A&M will play again, Texas athletic director DeLoss Dodds told The Daily Texan, the university's student newspaper, but it'll be on the Longhorns' terms.

"They left," Dodds said of A&M, which left the Big 12 and joined the SEC in 2012. "They're the ones that decided not to play us. We get to decide when we play again. I think that's fair.

"If you did a survey of our fans about playing A&M, they don't want to. It's overwhelming. I know. I hear it. Our fans are important to us. I think there's got to be a period where things get different. I think there's too many hard feelings."

I repeat: They need the game, and we don’t. Simple as that. Sips can go frick themselves. If any of y’all don’t like it, you can go frick yourself, too.

I would support kicking A&M out of the conference for this embarrassing shite. The one thing they could add to the landscape of college football would be a high profile rivalry, cause God knows they aren't winning any championships this century, and they pussed out.

Texas leads all time Series 76-35 or there abouts and 10 games to 4 since the BcS era started. I’m pretty sure y’all are ducking them.

If I remember correctly, Texas dropped the series after TexasAM came to the the SEC, and Kansas dropped their series with Missouri for the same reason.

Their loss, as the SEC is a much higher profile conference, and it would have helped the BIG 12.

That quote isn't a comparable situation at all.

That's the former UT AD generally speaking about if the games get played again. He's also doing some saber rattling for his fans.

That's very different from UT actually approaching aggy to get a home and home on the books and aggy throwing up a weak excuse and refusing. Especially when aggy posters here over the years have blamed Texas on why the series won't be renewed but that aggy is willing. Guess they can't claim that anymore.
