15k at the most. And if you don't think most Ole Miss fans think like I do, go look at our season ticket sales and how much less our donations are compared to when Freeze was here.

I just looked at the amount of season tickets/parking passes still available, holy shite it's bad

Nah man. Everyone is super excited about Luke. He loves Ole Miss. The support is there. I clearly don't know what I'm talking about and am just talking out of my arse because I hate Luke

No worries. When the Rebels rout TT in Houston there will be plenty of excitement.

Back it up with a blow out win against Southern Illinois and the team will definitely have the attention of the naysayers.

Let the Rebels upset Bama, who may still have a QB controversy by game 3 and there will be a lot of crow being eaten all the way til Thanksgiving when the Rebels take down state for their 3rd win in 4 years.

Next season is the year to be concerned. The Rebels will be replacing 4 offensive lineman, their top 3 WRs, and their starting QB.

So the Rebels better do something this year to excite the fan base.

it's Southern Illinois and we have the best offense in the SEC potentially. Won't be impressed

Yay. Celebrating Egg Bowl wins like they actually mean something.

^^^ How exactly would an Egg Bowl win this year not mean anything?

Fitzgerald will be back better than ever. The fire within him to beat OM will be immense. He hates us as bad as anyone.

He will be the best QB in the SEC.

Westin Galleria. I have work in Houston on Friday, so I’m staying over.

I’m trying to pick the best steakhouse for Saturday night right now. Any suggestions?

You know "Hank", we are all resigned to the fact that nothing short of winning the NC will impress you.

But for the average fan that was embarrassed by Hugh Freeze's actions and the NCAA penalties it will take winning to bring them back.

Just as we don't get band wagon fans jumping on board when we are good, we always have a fall off when things go badly.

The offense is going to be "explosive", the defense will be "improved". Whether or not they are improved enough to win more than 7 games is left to be determined.

If the Rebels go down to Houston and dominate TT like they did OSU in the Sugar Bowl, then it will get people's attention.

TT doesn't return an experienced QB and they lost their best WR due to his arrest in the spring.

TT defense was no better than the Rebels last season, giving up almost 33 points a game.

The Rebels are 1.5 point underdog in Vegas. The over/under is 67 points. The 67 seems low for teams with a history of scoring a lot a points, with both giving up over 30 points a game.

TT's strength is slinging the ball. Ole Miss' secondary is experienced and can play in space. This isn't state or Fauburn's offense. I think Ole Miss should win big by running the ball down TT's throats and creating T/o's on defense.

If Ole Miss runs the ball for over 225 yards and controls the clock they should win big.

If they can't, the offensive line isn't that great and struggling to get to 6 wins will be a major accomplishment.

But no one knows much of anything for certain.
That's why they play the games.

Never said it would be a National Title. It needs to be that next step that would have been taken by Freeze had the NCAA shite not happened. If Freeze was our head coach still, we would win the west in the next few years. I want that at least from Luke if I'm going to accept him.

Ah, so you live in a fantasy world where we face no repercussions or setbacks from going to football jail

Get the boosters back out there and paying recruits. Do that and we barely miss a beat with anyone not named Matt Luke as our head coach

Guarantee it's not as extensive as it was under Freeze. Plus Freeze could recruit his arse off. Luke and his staff are nowhere near as talented as the staff Freeze had.

I don’t understand how you can think we’d magically get better despite losing to the NCAA

The Freeze trajectory was trending downwards. You could say that the NCAA was largely at fault for this and you would be mostly right but Freeze's recruit targeting left a ton of areas under-served. Namely defense. Let's not forget his play calling blunders and inability to cut ties with dead weight on the coaching staff. (Granted, if Matt Luke is any different remains to be seen)

The 2016 class, which was coming off of a successful season and was only hampered by the first NOA shortly before NSD still suffered from lack of defensive players. I'm definitely not a Matt Luke apologist but I'm not completely sold on Freeze's success extending past the 2013 class's departure.

Regardless of whether it’s Freeze, or Luke, or even Les Miles or Jeremy Pruitt or Chad Morris, I feel like we’d still need to score 60 this year because our opponent will score 50 because of how downright shitty we recruited on defense. We’re bad against the run, and our secondary gets burned frequently. The guy coaching our defense is the guy Hugh Freeze picked

They’re going everywhere. We’re getting Jerrion Ealy a RB that Saban is obsessed with.

I quit following recruitment back in 2008. I’ve look at rivals boards a handful of times since then. We all know stars don’t mean crap.

I’m not saying Matt Luke will bring in the talent Freeze did. Because Freeze is a top tier coach. Luke isn’t. He has a chance to prove his worth with a lot less talent.

We are weak on D. And it will show late in games.

Tell that to the millions of dollars the MLB will offer him when he’s drafted in the top 10
