Worst: The James F. Byrnes Building

This monstrosity is right across the street from The Horseshoe.

Blocker was almost as bad inside as it was outside. The only redeeming quality were the breakfast sandwiches...those were delicious.

The good news for us LSU grads is that both Lockett and Middleton Library are to be demolished and replaced by buildings in the northern Italian style.
How is it good for us LSU Grads?

Seems it will be better for future LSU students that will actually get to use the new facilities.

When are they set to be demolished?

My favorite was always the Caroliniana Library, it doesn't look like much from the outside but the inside is quite nice.

I'd argue that The Caroliniana Library is a treasure. Built around 1840 and contains many incredibly historically important items.

I don't think a date has been set yet. It was unveiled in LSU's new Master Plan. They need to figure out where to build the new library as it won't be on that site. They want to restore the Quad to its original cross shape again as it was originally built.

Current Quad with Middleton Library in center:

Original Quad seen in this pic under Memorial Tower:

Proposed Quad with no more Middleton in the center (or Locket Hall):

uggliest building is easily the tin gym. i mean it is literally a barracks but not as nice.

McCarthy is worse. I just stuck to the theme of academic buildings.

You are thinking of Dorman too. But it’s technically not beside it anymore. The new Lee biological engineering building is now between them.

I'm partial to Montgomery Hall

backside

Apparently they've regutted it to its former glory from when I was there.

Henry Hunter Alumni Cape Canaveral Welcome Center Space Mountain Ride. It's a nice facility but soooo out of place.

Lloyd Ricks has hidden confederate flags built into the bricks at the top. No one ever seems to notice that.

For AU it's definitely Samford/Haley IMO

For my "other" school, it's probably the same building, which just happens to be the only building I really ever spent much time in

Exterior sucks

Interior is pretty pleasant

I was in Katherine Cooper Cater Hall the other day on a college visit with my daughter. The inside is nice, but the outside needs some work. Rotten wood, needs painting, etc... Would hate for AU to let that building fall apart--it is a beautiful old building.

I hear rumors that Haley Center is not long for this world, which would greatly improve the center of AU's campus.

mccarthy doesn't show up on live national TV. If I had 20 million or so laying around i'd pay to have it demolished and build something awesome like a slip in slide.

If they just removed that weird spire the Hunter Henry Center wouldn't look that bad.

Bates was a shithole, but the dining hall was perfect for a hangover.
