Question about Florida and MState

They have been jousting back and forth of late. MState unhappy that Mullen left them for another SEC school, and countering that Mullen is not a good recruiter and pointing at the Florida class as it stands right now as proof.
Florida fans saying things like "...left you for a prettier girl.." and so forth. It's been entertaining, to say the least to watch.
But my question is this:
Which team has the better record this season?
MState plays in the tougher West division, so that gives Florida a bit of an edge. And, if Florida is, indeed, the "prettier girl", that would indicate they have the better program and players, but MState returns a lot of starters from last years team.
So, who will have the better season in 2018?

The real question should be which team will be more disappointed at the end of this season?

Ms State. I think Mullen has quote a rebuild on his hand, but I think UF's upside is a lot better/

MSU will almost certainly have a better record this year. That's not indicative of program quality, though--Mullen left MSU in good shape but took over a dumpster fire.

Mullen has a good shot in the next 3-4 years at 1. Winning the East and 2. Winning the SEC. he’s a damn good coach and I wish LSU would have snatched him up. He molds QBs like no other in the conference.

Both are legitimate questions. But you didn't answer the question. I am not trolling. I am genuinely interested in seeing the responses.

Almost certainly Florida. MSU fans are, for the most part, realistic.

State without a doubt. Florida has nowhere to go but up. They were so bad last season and State was pretty good.

We will see who is happier on Sept. 29th for sure.
I expect the Gators to win 9+ games so MSU will probably not win that many.

I agree, that i think Florida has further to go, but Florida fans seem to think they have the talent to turn it around quickly. Add to that, they seem to see MState as inferior in talent even right now. That leads me to believe that Florida believes they should have the better year.
No doubt, Florida has the higher ceiling with the talent at their disposal, though.

If this board is an accurate reflection of their fan base, Florida fans don't appear to feel that way.
Out fo curiosity for MState fans...if Florida beats you this year and has a better year, will that change your perception of Mullen?

Mullen left because our AD told him he wasn’t worth $6M. Cohen was tired of his yearly shenanigans and told Mullen to go where they would pay him that.

Just please leave Megan alone if you see her at Publix after you get your Music City Bowl bid.

No. He left because Florida is a better program.

That is false, Cohen did everything he could to keep Mullen.
Don't kid yourself.

Here is my prediction.
State is going to be shockingly good this season. In the four years of the College Football Playoff, MSU has entered the Egg Bowl three times with a New Years Six bowl on the line. They went 0-3 in those three Egg Bowls, but still managed one New Years Six bowl game.
I think they get another this year with a 9-3/10-2 type season.
Florida is a rebuild, and will need a quarterback to get them where Mullen can take them. They don't have that this year, but it will not take Mullen long to either recruit one or mold one. The man took Chris Relf to a 9 win SEC season and top 15 finish. That should never be forgotten and is probably his biggest coaching accomplishment.
The key for State's future is going to be not falling too far after 2018 season. Recruiting is looking solid - the '19 and '20 classes in the state of Mississippi are the best in history. Moorhead will most certainly return in 2019, but thats where it gets tricky. If he has a great season in '19 and a decent B1G job comes open, I don't think he possesses the problems that Mullen had in finding another job.

CNB Said: Almost certainly Florida.
See why I thought this was an interesting question?
Both of you are reasonable posters with very different perceptions. A lot of the Florida fans have been denigrating South Carolina with some predicting they (Florida) win the East this year.
On the other hand, MState fans point out they return 17 or 18 out of 22 starters off a team that won 9 games last season.
It just seems like MState has better talent right now, but play in the tougher west.

I would say Florida, unless they stink it up so bad first half of the season they have given up long before this point in the schedule:
10/27 UGA
11/3 Mizzou
11/10 SC
11/17 Idaho
11/24 @ FSU
Early signing day Dec. 19 - 21.
