These MIGHT be ahead of you right now, I would agree.

Not this one, though.

But, the team with the best talent doesn't always win, either. Florida has beaten us in the past when i felt we had more talent, and we have beaten Auburn in the past when I felt they had more talent.

If Mullen really can coach up lesser talented players, then it's possible. Right now, I think it is unreasonable....but not out of the question totally.

24/7 shows them having more team talent, I think it’s close but Butch recruited pretty well.

MSU may win the battle this year, but I think Florida wins the war.

Wow. that's a shocker. I am genuinely surprised. But, like Florida, I think they have some genuine questions at QB. I wouldn't have thought they were close to Florida in talent, though. That surprises me.

I actually agree, but if Moorehead proves to be a good coach as well as recruiter my opinion could But I would say Florida should have a clear edge.change.

Mac was pretty enept, if it wasn’t for the defense Champ left behind, he would have been exposed much sooner. He torpedoed our recruiting for the better part of two years with projects and trouble makers.

Agreed. Moorehead could be the better coach, but it's easier to win and recruit at UF. But that also comes with very high expectations to win. Overall, I think Mullen has more success at UF. As an LSU fan, that's not easy to admit

What has you so optimistic? Or are you just always like this in July?

Have you looked at our roster? lots of talent returning. We just needed a functional QB and some better offensive line play, both of which we will have with Mullen, to contend for the East this season.

You really think we will lose to 1/2 the teams you listed as having more talent? 3 OC cup cakes, UK, Vandy, Mizzou, Tenn, USCe gets us to 8, then split UG, FSU, LSU, MSU. That's a 10 win season if my math is correct. Nega-Gator.

I would have been really, really worried if Mullen went to LSU. That defense runs itself and then you have a guy that can actually get production out of Quarterbacks? Hoo boy.

It's a shame Florida had to suffer through Muschamp's learning curve. It took him awhile to understand he could not be a one trick pony (Defensive savant) in the SEC. had he just recruited at an average level offensively at Florida you guys would have been horrific to deal with.

Well, it was pretty horrific for us to deal with you anyway, but I mean the rest of the SEC.

Absolutely. Florida has so many advantages, with history, academics, in state talent, etc.

Don't give me a bad rep, I'm a shitty poster, just ask around.
I love college football, the Florida Gators, and generally like most of the SEC.
I have teams and fans I dislike, but respect, UGa. Some I hate and don't respect, FSU. Some,I just tolerate, LSU.

I respect all the players, wish them all health and success.

I wouldn't count them as an automatic win. I really feel they will be tough. I am not saying they will beat you, but could.

The problem is you lost to all of those last season...no split at all.

Just for a reality check....what did you honestly think your team was going to be like lasts season? I mean, what did you think Florida's record would be at the start of the season? that should give you an idea of how realistic your expectations might be this year.

Not saying you guys won't be good. You might be. A break her or a break there could get you off to a great start.

Mullen was on my list when Alleva toyed with getting rid of Miles in 2015 and then finally did in 2016. But it just made too much sense for Alleva to do it. Had he come though, I would've been worried Florida could have always hired him away.

I wouldn't say that. You are definitely a homer, but there is nothing wrong with that, either.

I have a couple of friends that are big Gator fans. I have a Florida/Georgia party when we play you guys for people from the church I go to. One usually comes to the party, and the other is usually at the game.

Both sides are pretty respectful to the other when the game takes a turn one way or the other. I think we all understand how it feels to come out on the short end of the stick.

Your response was great until this, how about we don’t confuse being realistic and negative. How are we going to stop anyone from running the ball? We have some good skill guys, but when teams are going on 12 play 70 yard drives because you have no DT depth and your Linebacker play is abysmal there isn’t much we can do to stop it. You need talent on the Line of Scrimmage in this league and we simply don’t have enough. Call me negative if you want but it’s the truth. Khari Clark, T.J Slaton, Eli’Jah Conliffe, Kyree Campbell, Marlon Dunlap that’s our DT’s and not one of them have been a game changer yet. How about Linebacker? David Reese, Vosean Joseph, Kylan Johnson, Rashad Jackson, all 2 or 3 stars, and no proven difference maker, and 3 guys that were hurt or suspended that have never played. This is the middle of our defense the most important part of it in this league and we aren’t good enough. Watch and see.

Last year, didn't play MSU, the UF team will be motivated this game, playing for their coach and will win this one
LSU, lost a close game last year that with any offense would have won. We should win this game.
UGa, coach Mac had quit and team quit, for the rest of the season, FSu included in this comment.
UF vs UGa could be for the SEC East title and who knows? UGa will not be as good as last year and UF will be better. Fsu has an arse whipping coming, they were not that good last year and will be worse this year.

Remember, we had 9 players suspended for the season, leading rusher, leading receiver, other starters. We have talent, better o-line, better receivers, great running backs. We just need functional QB play and some offensive coaching.

Taggart has improved his teams record from the previous year at every stop he has been at so far, I would be so sure about that. The man is doing something right.

You don't think MSU will be motivated to beat the coach who left?

As I said, you are a bit too much of a homer to have much of a conversation with. You would just get upset with me, and probably I would get frustrated with you.

-UF vs MSU is 3 and 3 since 2000.

-UF has won 1 time in Starkville , since 1985

-The new Gator coach doesn't have a great history of winning big games in that stadium
