MState unhappy that Mullen left them for another SEC school

That was less than ideal, for sure, but we're not mad about that. We're mad that the jack-arse quit coaching the team after the Bama game and let us get beat by that cheating bunch of traitorous confederates from Oxford on national TV. If he would have gone all-out until the end and then just left I think we would have been less upset. Nobody likes a quitter

You’re 100% mad about him leaving. Mullen went from a top 3 coach in the SEC to not being worthy of coaching at State in the same offseason. You are pissed he left but don’t want to acknowledge it.

I do not know how either coach will fare, but it is apparent State fans are mad how this all went down.

Florida is in a rebuild whether their fans here understand that or not. They had glaring weaknesses on offense. Mullen will fix that, but it will take time.

I don't think most reasonable MSU fans have a false perception of Mullen (despite ridiculous posters here). Mullen is a top 20 coach nationally and a poor recruiter. It is what it is. He was fantastic at building the MSU program up to where it is, but couldn't recruit the talent necessary to take that next step. If Florida does indeed "recruit itself" he should have Florida competitive for the east in 3 years. If Florida has a better year than us, I'd say that's more of a problem with Moorhead than a compliment to Mullen. Anything Mullen does this year will be less about him and more about rebuilding a poor offense. Crazy things might happen.

While I agree with this point, I also think it is natural. But, the same could be said the way the Chip Kelly thing went down at Florida, too, though.

I have no problem with anything you said, and agree. I appreciate your input. I was mainly curious about both fan bases opinions, since there is a correlation to the programs and the unique situation they are in.

And these are two totally different things. Mad about how it went down? Yes. He was paid well and he should’ve finished what he was paid to do. Don’t believe us, go back and watch the Bama, Arkansas, and Ole Miss games and see if you can tell a difference. You want to change jobs fine, but as long as you are still on employer 1’s payroll put your best effort into it or go ahead and leave.

Mad about the fact he left? No. It was time, probably past time, for that to happen. Whether he made the right choice and we made the right choice for his replacement is yet to be seen. Might end up being good for both parties.

That's like comparing your wife leaving you to a girl who's way out of your league not responding to your text.

As an LSU fan, I am way more worried about Mullen at UF than I am about Jimbo at A&M. If Mullen gets the right guys in place and finds a QB (which he will), they will be right up there with UGA in no time for the East. I give him one year then they should be in the 9-10 win range

I think Miss State will beat Florida this year, and they will have the same record 7-5 or 8-4. I don't care how much talent they have coming back. They lost basically there whole staff and play in the West. Alabama, Auburn, Texas A&M, and LSU are still better than Miss State. (Reasonable) Florida fans aren't expecting much this year. Miss State will still be Miss State.

He's got to solve his DC issues, imo, in order to catch Georgia. Running through 7 defensive coordinators in 7 years won't work when you're trying to win the division. I know that location was an issue with more than 1 DC and made things more difficult on Mullen than they should be in Gainesville. But still, some of it is Dan's personality

Bama and Auburn yes. LSU is not better until they get a QB.

aTm has been physically dominated by MSU the past 2 years. Maybe Jimbo can change their persona, but they are in no way better than State.

Already has. Emory Jones will be good shortly. he is a bit raw and needs some seasoning, but he will be a good one in a year or two.

MSU, they will probably win the head to head also, this isn’t a good UF roster, especially on the line of scrimmage where it matters most. Mullen has A ton of work to do.

That is false, Cohen did everything he could to keep Mullen.

Don't kid yourself.

That's likely true, however Cohen and Keenum were sick of his behavior on the matter and confronted him about it, long before anything happened.

This was my thinking, too. I just saw some Florida fans saying they expected 10-11 wins, etc. and belittling MStates chances. I'm sure some of it was trolling, but I think some honestly believe and expect that.
But, Florida will get there. It will just take time.
