Bama fans at their finest

Was at a sports convention recently at a restaurant and I was eating brunch with a few former NFL players. Anyway, I’m sporting my LSU polo at the table, and an Alabama “fan” comes up and starts jawjacking about how we haven’t beaten them in nearly ten years and all that crap. Anyway, we’re all kind of amused at this guy, and I ask him what year he graduated. Of course, he didn’t even go to Bama, so I then ask him when he became a Bama fan, to which he responds “Oh I liked them before they were good.” This really got me going, so I asked him who Bama’s coach was before Nick Saban. At that, he just stared at me blankly and walked away. It’s so damn stereotypical, how do you guys deal with people like this in your fan base? I feel like these stories happen all the time.

The world is rampant with morons. Consider yourself lucky.

Sounds like a made-up story.

That’s why it’s so incredible because I feel like people make these kind of stories up and then it happens to you in real life, leaving you in a state of astonishment

Entirely irrelevant detail that you added as a humble brag.
However, I actually believe this story because I've dealt with a similar Bama fan in the past.

I hate bandwagon fans. I have no problem with fans that didn't go to school at Bama as long as they were fans during the down times, but not folks that say they are fans because Bama is good now. I went through the shite and it sucked. I stayed drunk on Saturdays

I say this is all BS. Most Alabama don’t give a shite about LSU, don’t even think about them except for one week a year. Go on ANY Alabama chat board and of the lines about other teams, you will find 70 percent about Auburn, 20 percent about Tennessee, and at present, perhaps 5 percent Georgia and 5 percent about the team most likely to beat the Tide, Alabama itself. LSU doesn’t even register.
So how do we judge this post? Easy...it is all about just another random obsessed LSU fan who woke up this morning with dreams about Alabama, yet again. And he just had to share his obsessed fantasy with everyone.
Honestly...can ANYONE imagine an Alabama fan just walking up and unbidden, suddenly starting a trolling conversation with a random corn dog?.... about a team that hasn’t been a threat to Alabama for years and years... and who is a yearly 3rd or 4th place or even 5th place finisher in the SEC West? uh..... no.

So there is a good chance that the shite talker was a minor and wasn't alive before Saban got to Tuscaloosa

Prolly the same way you deal with the idiots in your fanbase - ignore them.

You would think a stadium full of alumni, which apparently are the only one's that go to an LSU game, would support their team a little more than emptying the stadium at halftime. You might want to recruit a few band wagon fans to fill a few seats.

Bro , we didn't ask for the representative of the whipping boys of the SEC to come in here and comment. Kick rocks.

Fake news, lack of objectivity on the reporter’s part, mentally unhinged after 7.
Black Cloud will buy you some therapy, maybe.

I loved the guy last week takes seat next to me on the flight TUS-ATL and has all the required travel garb on, red cap, red shirt announcing national championships, black and white houndstooth design shorts.
First thing he says is Roll Tide I guess because I have a LSU polo shirt on. I smile and nod, which I guess is not enough acknowledgement for him. So, he then announces we gonna kick your arse again this year. I smile and say you guys always proclaim to kick my arse but has never happened yet.
Then, another passenger tells him you are in my seat. Stupid fricker was supposed to be in economy but saw the LSU shirt so had to take the seat to talk.
Happens in airports six times a year. Funny thing before Coach Saban got to Alabama, I never saw anyone wearing a crimson hat, shirt or shorts with Alabama written on it in an airport.
