While most of the attention CFL has drawn from Aggies has be directed towards Johnny's comeback another ghost of Aggie past is also attempting a comeback of sorts up North.
Mike Sherman is now the head coach of the Montreal Alouettes and things have gotten off to a very poor start at 0-2. Game 1 was a 22-10 road defeat at the hands of the BC Lions (the worst West Division team from 2017) while game 2 was an embarrassing 56-10 thrashing at home to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers (2nd last year in the West).
To be fair, Sherman took over the worst team in CFL. Montreal went 3-15 in 2017 and scored a piddling 314 points (next worst was Hamilton w/443) over the course of the season while giving up a league worst 580 (Hamilton again was second worst w/545). They lost their last 11 games w/all but one coming by double digits by an average score of 38-14.
Obviously, Sleepy Sherman has a ton of work to do in his attempted turn around of the moribund franchise. He has already had to publicly call out his team for their poor play.

Of note, Montreal and Sherman was the other CFL team that showed heavy interest in Johnny Manziel but they were unable to swing a trade with Hamilton for his rights. So far Jeremiah Masoli has done nothing to warrant losing his starting gig in Hamilton (2 games in 2nd in CFL passing yards & 3rd in TDs at a 67% clip) so if Montreal keeps on getting the ever living crap kicked out of them it wouldn't be a shock to see them again attempt to trade for Johnny just to try an invigorate the franchise with some sort of enthusiasm.
So far though Sherman's Montreal squad has been about as fun to watch as an NFL scouting combine.

“We didn’t do the things we said we would do in this game. You can point the finger at the coaches. The coaches can point the finger at you. You can point at each other, but you better point that finger at yourself. All I want to hear from anybody is what can I do to fix it and make it better. Because this is not our season. This is not how we are going to play this year.”

I honestly figured that guy would have been happy to enjoy his rich man's retirement several years ago.

The Montreal Alouettes added quarterback Kenny Hill to their practice roster Monday.
Hill is the son of the former Montreal Expos pitcher by the same name and broke Johnny Manziel's school record for most passing yards in a single game with 511 while at Texas A&M.
Hill took over for Manziel as the starting quarterback at Texas A&M before transferring to TCU, where he started for two seasons.
The 23-year-old finished his collegiate career with 9,192 passing yards and 64 touchdowns to 29 interceptions and 1,127 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns on the ground.
The Alouettes also signed offensive lineman Spencer Damm and wide receiver De'Mornay Pierson-El to their practice roster.

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have traded quarterback Johnny Manziel to the Montreal Alouettes, the teams announced Sunday.
Manziel, offensive tackle Tony Washington and offensive lineman Landon Rice were sent to Montreal in exchange for defensive end Jamaal Westerman, wide receiver Chris Williams and first-round picks in 2020 and 2022.
Manziel, 25, never saw the field with Hamilton, which has been led by quarterback Jeremiah Masoli. Masoli tied a CFL record with nine straight 300-yard passing games before the team's Week 5 bye.
In Montreal, Manziel will be reunited with coach Mike Sherman, who recruited Manziel to Texas A&M in 2011, when Sherman was head coach of the Aggies.
He will battle for the quarterback job with Drew Willy, Jeff Mathews and Matt Shiltz, all of whom have been tested by Montreal, which is 1-4 and in last place in the CFL's four-team East Division.
Manziel will try to improve an offense that ranks last in the league in points scored and rushing yards, tied for last in turnovers and is seventh of nine teams in passing yards.
