Alabama has its kicker in the 2019 class.
Hoover (Ala.) product Will Reichard announced his commitment to the Crimson Tide on Wednesday morning over Georgia and LSU, among other offers.
"I fell in love with it," Reichard said of Alabama in an interview after his spring game with John Garcia Jr. "I just knew in my heart (the winning school) is where I needed to go. I've had this feeling in my heart, I would say, for the past couple of weeks. I don't really see it changing so I just kind of want to go ahead and get it locked in with the school I want to go to.

Probably Bama’s most important recruit of the class. Getting a scholly for sure?

He should. Good kid by all accounts. I'm good friends with an older cousin of his that went to Auburn and his sister is already at Auburn, he probably would have gone to AU too if we didn't already have lil Carlson. Good pick up by Bama

Kicking guru Chris Sailer on Reichard:

quote:
“If he was in the Class of 2017, 2018, 2019 or 2020, he would still be the No. 1 kicker in the country,” Sailer said. “He’s that good. If I brought him to any campus of where my current college starters are, they'd be fearful of their job if Will came to compete. I will go a step further. I even believe you could put him in an NFL camp right now. He’s that good. He’s ready for the next level. That’s how special Will is. Everyone fears Will, no matter what age he is.”

Sounds like he's the Burrows of kicking. No way Saban and crew can screw this up.

Meh, I think in the last 5 years we've signed two all American kickers and end up with a walk on.
I'm just tired of closing my eyes on extra points.

Obviously you haven’t seen our recent kickers. They supposedly come in as the next Sebastian Janakowski and leave like Dumb and Dumber.

Well we no longer have Bobby Williams tainting our kickers so maybe there is hope.

We have Jeff Banks coaching him now instead of Bobbeh. That couldn't be any more of a night and day difference in terms of kicker coaching. Banks is considered the best of the best in the college game.

This kid is about as safe a kicking prospect as you can get according to people who know what they're talking about. I've been talking to some people today who are close with the Hoover program and his family, and what I hear about his work ethic, attention to detail, and passion for kicking, he reminds me a lot of the things I hear about Daniel Carlson. They have very similar temperaments. I know Bama has had a bad track record with top kicking recruits under Saban, but I feel confident they hit the mark with this one.

Sadly I think you’re correct.

This kid is doomed. I'm gonna make a fake Saban burner account on twitter and talk mad shite about him until he decommits. If he's as good a kid as you say, we owe it to ourselves to save him.

So we have the same people over him as previous years? We don’t have a ST coach that’s one of the most respected in the country?
