Nowhere in my post did I say it was.

State leads the series the last 25 years
State has been to Atlanta
State has been ranked #1
State has had 2 losing seasons the last 10 years- Ole Miss 3
State has been to 8 straight bowl games the last decade- OM 6

State's last 2 coaching hires were nationally known OC's- considered the top in their field- OM hired 2 nobody coaches

How's the Rebel Rags lawsuit and the depositions going? Any news?

This is a tough one. I have no ties to either school. From the outside looking in I think Ole Miss is the state's most notable university. Perception is state are the rebels little brother. Ole miss stadium is very nice and a pretty area to tailgate. Good looking women everywhere. Even ole miss uniforms look better.

Now when I think of Starkville I think barnes and houses with rusty tin roofs and open fields full of cotton. I think redneck and pick up trucks with rebel flags attached to them. I think of whites only bathrooms.

If my child could only get into school at Ole Miss or Miss st I would want him to go in my bedroom dresser to drawer, grab my revolver and fricking shoot me in the face. If I survived the shot I'd tell him to sign with Ole Miss

Ole Miss is the better program.

State has certainly improved in the past twenty years, but they had a lot of ground to make up for it. Ole Miss' lulls were never as bad as State's.

Both schools would benefit from focusing less on comparing each other and more on trying to compete at a national level.

vs.

Maybe 50-60 years ago but not now.
State has pulled past Ole Miss in the last 40+ years.
Stadiums are both nice and with the Junction, State has a very nice tailgating center right next to the stadium. State’s campus is much better manicured and landscaped than Ole Miss.
In my earlier post, I stated the difference in the series record was between 1947-1973 when Ole Miss had a 21-2-4 record against State. Otherwise the series is basically even.

State lost 19 wins and had two ties fortified between 1975-77 because of a bogus probation given to us when a football player got a clothing discount at a store that was available to all students.
Otherwise we are over .500 all time on the field.
Granted Ole Miss is ahead of us all time mainly because of the 1950’s-60’s.

On many other levels academically and otherwise, State has passed Ole Miss in the recent decades. Also, in the other Big 2, baseball and basketball, we are far superior to them.

This is a conversation that will always merit great debate, but in the eyes of the rant, who has the better program? I know Ole Miss claims those titles in the sixties, but who knows whether they are legit or not because there are many other teams who claim titles for those same years. Meanwhile Mississippi State does not have any claim to any titles. That being said, Mississippi State has actually won the SEC West and been ranked #1 for many weeks in the CFP Powl, while Ole Miss has only been a west "co-champion" and only got as high as #3 on the CFP Poll. So what say the rant? Who is the better program?

This football or overall? Overall, MSU by a sizable distance. The gap between MSU Baseball, Men's and Women's bball and Ole Miss's of those three sports is huge.

Ole Miss has a better history in football but State is set up better over the next ten years.

State.

A university can't depend on out-of-state alumni as the backbone of the fanbase.

I'd say Ole Miss. Mississippi State has been cheating big time the last several years and still couldn't win any more games than Ole Miss. Ole Miss has been ranked #1 in the country in the last several years, while MSU has never been ranked #1. I'm mean, Mississippi State has a 2 year bowl ban because of the cheating!

Ole Miss is no question better program, at least they don't have to cheat to TRY to win.
