Nah actually not that humiliating. You know what is though... Missing a bowl twice in the past 5 years alone.

Maybe in 2-3 years Florida can return to the glory of the TaxSlayer Bowl.

I'll let you know how shiny Kirby's new rings will be in that time period.

They make a thread titled "Pick a Football Coach: Kirby vs Saban" and then cry about others being insecure. Oh the irony

It's jsut one, and it's the resident pot stirrer rig.

Furthermore, despite all of us answering with saban (something everyone seems to overlook...), it's not that far fetched of a question considering Saban has ~5 years left (at least of elite level, probably) while Kirby is just getting started. It's not like saban's previous titles carry over with him for the sake of this exercise.

Ultimately the question boils down to, would you rather have an almost assured 1 title in a ~5 year span, or the potential to have who knows how many titles over a ~20 year span. It's not like it was the worst question ever asked.

Five straight responses from five* different Georgia fans, nothing but solidarity and security here. Nothing to see, boys.

What game were you watching?

The game that had a team go into the locker room at halftime beaten and came back out to pull out yet another championship. The coach of that team is and will be the platinum standard for the foreseeable future.

Kirby may be a very good coach over time, but right now, he is a one and almost done until proven otherwise. Great recruiting classes DO NOT equate to championships by themselves except for the offseason ones that Georgia fans continue to try to win daily on this site.

Finally. Best recruiting class of all time in 2010, Muschamp loses to an FCS in 2013. Recruiting makes things easier, but it only masks the deficiencies of bad coaches (like 2012). Having a team down two scores, no points, come back and beat you (shouldn't have even been in overtime since that kicker was terrible) isn't a good sign for a coach with a veteran defense comprised of almost solely upperclassmen.

With Kirby recruiting the way he is, this is far from guaranteed that he will another. That's not diminishing his track record at all.

But you would be stupid to say that. When Ohio State Actually beat Alabama with a 3rd string QB and won the NC, did that keep Alabama from winning it the next year? Do you think Ohio State doesn't recruit just as well.

When Clemson Actually beat Alabama on a last second pick play did that prevent Alabama from beating them the next year and winning a NC?

You act like UGA is the first team to challenge Alabama and Saban. Hell Malzhan has done everything Kirby has, difference is he has to play Saban every year. If Auburn hadn't taken Alabama down for you, Kirby might not even have an SEC or Rose Bowl.

Having a team go 13-2 with a SEC championship and NC appearance is never a bad sign, no matter how much you try to move the goalposts. Nevermind the recruiting part.

Exactly. The teams were dead even after 60 minutes, and bama won not because of supreme and masterful coaching, but because their desperation move to yank the incumbent dud at QB and play another bevy of uber talented true freshman happened to pay off. Despite saban being the unanimous runaway answer to the topic, he still needed overtime to beat a coach in his 2nd year on the job

too bad we actually have won a championship under kirby, after his first recruiting class got to campus, and we jsut signed an even more talented class than that.

People want to think of this as a chizik situation where a dude jsut has ultra studs to carry him to a title but can't do anything on his own (like chizik). Kirby didn't win with a cam or a vince young or a tebow, he won with a solid run game, steady QB play, and solid defense. There's nothing to suggest he won't continue doing that.

No one knows insecurity like you straws. Your "false narrative" uga posts are born out of insecurity and they are followed by you running away due to another level of insecurity.

I still think they should just give the SEC Championship to Alabama.

Auburn played bama when they had 4 LBS out and were banged up, not to mention hurts hadn't entered "ultra-futility" mode like he did in the playoffs.

If you put SECCG Georgia against iron bowl bama, I don't think it's a stretch to say UGA wins..especially considering how evenly matched the teams were a month later when bama got healthier.

What? You mean like two 5* running backs coming back for their final year in tandem?

You mean like a coach leaving your team with a team chalk full with rising talent?

You mean like Florida and Tennessee both having terrible teams and ending up firing their head coaches?

You mean like no ranked teams in the SEC East outside of Georgia?

You mean like having to play two actual regular season games and getting the breaks beaten off of you by Auburn and barely winning against Notre Dame?

Kirby had a shite ton of luck this year that the East is one of the worst its been in a hot minute and that its two primary rivals were in the middle of getting rid of dead weight coaches, then to get a rematch against a depleted Auburn team that boatraced you without effort.
