Non-Bama, Non-UGA fans...

If you could wave a magic wand, and have either coach for your team, which would you pick?

66-year old Nick Saban with a few good years left

42-year old Kirby Smart with his whole career ahead of him

Voting begins now.

Saban.

If you're giving us 1 pick, gotta go with the guy who's done it & has the notches on his holster

Saban for now. He outcoached Kirby last time they met. Pretty clear that Saban is still the best.

Now if you want us to consider age then say something like Pick a football coach Kirby vs Saban in 2028. Kirby gets the nod.

How is this a question at this juncture? Saban by several dozen country miles. His track record is unquestionable. Ask this question again in a few years. preferably after Kirby has a couple NCs under his belt. Going to one title game and winning one recruiting cycle doesn't put him anywhere near the same level as Saban yet. Age doesn't matter if you never get the accomplishments under your belt.

uga would trade Kirby for Saban today.

No reasonable person would say Kirby. Kirby may go on to greater things, but based on what we know the answer is simple.

A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. I would have to go with Saban.
