It seems panic has riveted the Tide Nation due to our rank in recruiting. This is not the end of Bama's dominance. Yes, the days ahead will be a little more challenging. Just think, last year we overcame all the injuries and still won the NC. Our guys will get it done - GA will be our greatest threat, but we are still Bama!

But we barely won. We had to win in OT on the final play.

Bull crap. Alabama fans are the most level headed fans in all of football and there's no way that many would Melt if we were going to be ok.

If there was ever a time to have a "down" year in recruiting, now was the time. Coming off last year's class and sandwiched behind next year's purported epic class, it's not too bad. Besides, we got a lot of what we needed except for interior DL. We grab a body or two in grad transfers, and we're good. Stop with the Aunt Pittypat vapors.

I can't believe anyone would be melting over a top 6 class in a year where our class had to be small. We filled our needs and that's all I wanted . We re a young roster overall and loaded at alot of positions

I don't frequent the recruiting thread much but I don't remember seeing any melting. We are all disappointed that we missed out on our DT guys two years in a row but that is it.

A few of us melted for a bit because we missed out on targets that told us days before that we were getting them. Yea we had a smaller class of 23 to sign but we signed 19. Literally we had a big name OT go elsewhere because they didnt want to compete. It was just a odd day

I’d rather be a Champion on the field than be a paper champ in February

Not at all lol. I’m very pleased with this class but like many others, wish we could’ve added a few more to this class. I keep hearing and reading how Bama fans are melting but I haven’t seen anything on a Bama site that is anywhere close to the LSU melts.

Obviously your not looking very hard.

There is absolutely nothing for anyone to be panicked about. We're coming of another national title, we are revamping our coaching staff, and we just signed a top 6 class despite it being a smaller class. Oh, and Nick Saban is still the head coach.
Alabama is absolutely fine. If you think otherwise, then you're letting the Georgia fans, who have nothing but a recruiting title to cling to, get in your head.

Please show me where Bama fans are saying they hope to see a recruit carried out on a stretcher, crippled or even worse for not signing with Bama. I haven’t seen it so please link me to it since you say they have like some LSU fans have said on tiger rant.

No! It's OVER!!! We'll never compete again.

Pretty good article. Worth reading, imo.
Why people shouldn’t believe Nick Saban’s recruiting dynasty is dead

with Tua being possibly the best QB to play since Mccarron - and the studs EVERYWHERE on offense...we wont have to be as dominate on D as we normally would have to be...L7U may even score a TD this year....or maybe not.

It could be because it appears Saban has lost a step. He won a NC last year by the skin of his teeth when it should've been easy. His failure to recognize Tua as the best QB had us lose the iron bowl and almost miss the playoffs entirely. I feel like in 09 when he was still trying to prove himself, this wouldn't have happened.
Then, we have our worst recruiting cycle since he first stepped on campus, we lose both our coordinators - Daboll, because he was sick of Saban's ego and probably because Saban never apologized for being wrong about Tua all along.
Now we've got Locksley (a yes-man) at OC, and an unproven young guy at DC.
This next season will likely tell the tale for the next 5 seasons. If we win the NC again, we're set. If we miss the playoffs, we're going to see a slow decline until Saban retires
People are a bit worried because of how mishandled last season was despite winning it all.

See I try to take the non-delusional approach.
We were decimated by injuries this year and still managed to pull out a NC. We stomped a Clemson team that had a vastly superior defense, and we beat a UGA team that played with their hair on fire in front of a home crowd with nothing to lose. Hell we're one pick play away from a three peat.
This was a new recruiting cycle, we got caught off guard like a lot of people did when 67% signed early and nobody could predict that. Saban adjusted, realized his mistake of having too many NFL guys on the staff and not enough elite recruiters. Probably realized it's not sustainable in recruiting if you're losing assistants every year and decided to go back to a winning formula. Young hungry coaches that are great recruiters, like Kirby and Lance in 09. Or Jimbo and Muschamp in the early LSU days.
Great thing about bringing in young coaches is it's a good sign Saban isn't planning on retiring anytime soon.
We addressed immediate needs at DB got the best WR that was a need and we've got a solid class. We essentially signed LSU's 2 starting CBs for next year. Next year's class has a lot of pressure and need to it on the Oline and Dline but it appears to be loaded and we look to be in great shape.
This isn't the end, this is Saban showing he's flexible and adjusting to the market.
See you guys in San Francisco.

Clemson had a vastly superior defense to whom?
