Nope, I am saying that OU team had not lost in like 2 or 3 years but they got beat by the Bear when he was at UK. As stated in the previous post the Maryland win 1 year and the Kentucky win another year was part of the impetus to not do the final poll so early. Probably was done the week early so not to intrude on Army - Navy or the Heisman trophy as probably wanted it all settled early.
What I am more frustrated with is the argument of the bowl season not mattering back then as many young Sooner fans argue today. Clearly it mattered back then because you had so few of them and clearly this was established early with Alabama winning the Rose in the 1920's. Technically the polls were already done over a month earlier but clearly - especially viewed by todays metrics - they should have been move to after the bowls 20 - 40 years before they actually were.
You also have to remember the early polls were dominated by media from the east which did impart some bias on the results. The year they gave it to Minnesota I think they had 2 losses when an old Big 8, SWC, or SEC had the better team and year. it is partially why to this day Notre Dame got so much love from the east coast even tho they were located in Indiana and more local fans in Chicago and Detroit.

I have seen lots of Sooner teams in person in my lifetime and I remember lots of black's running the ball for them. Are you saying any Sooner with slavery roots should be excluded from Oklahoma's wins?

You bring up a good point. Yes OU was unbeaten in 1949. Went 11-0 including a 35-0 route of LSU in the Sugar Bowl. Do OU fans constantly complain about being slighted finishing #2 when #1 Notre Dame only played 10 games (eg no bowl game)??

We accept the trophies given, don't ask afterwards and "Play Like a Champion Today"
F*** asking about 60 year old revisionist crap. 1/1/18 and potentially 1/8/18 are all that I care about

That 1966 really stinks. Alabama was 2-time defending NC, and was the only school to go undefeated and untied that year, as well as win their bowl game.
The only reason why Alabama was not NC was bias against the south at that time.....
Not sure who is the bigger dimwit here: you for contradicting yourself in one short paragraph or me giving you the time of day by responding to it. I'm leaning toward me since I should know better.
You have no clue what you are talking about.... I will excuse you due to your limit intelligence and research ability. However I would advise you to read up on items you have no clue about before posting next time.

Ah, hurt your feelings because I used facts about Oklahoma?
edit to add- But I will give you a chance, prove me wrong....
This should be good........

Seems like Ole Miss beat the Big 12’s second best team in the Sugar Bowl by 3 touchdowns.

Dude, I was responding to TurdFan and his idiocy. I know the bowls mattered then, but not for the NC.

So why did Alabama, after winning the Rose Bowl in 25, 26 and 30, win the National Title.....?????
Gotcha........

so, why did Alabama only have 6 national titles through the 1986 season?
Perhaps you should do your research outside of the Bama media guide; Bama themselves decided to retroactively claim 4 championships prior to the AP poll.
I will gladly educate you any time on the history of national championships.

You realize that Alabama was only counting Coach Bryant's NC, right?
On the back of that same media guide (the one with Coach Perkins on the cover) were other Coach Bryant's stats as well..... but I am sure you just overlooked that fact, right?
However, if you would like to talk about National Titles, I would be glad to educate you on the subject...
We can start your education with a bit of reading

(you might notice that this is OUTSIDE the Alabama media guide- but what do they know, right?)
Get back to me once you are through so we can continue..
You need to stop using opinion articles about the subject, they are confusing you.....
Alabama had the trophies for those 4 NC that you said they claim retroactively already in house, in the 1970's (that is before 1986 by the way, not to confuse you)........ but then those must be fake, right?
REALLY laughing at YOU......

leave it to a LSU fan to support another conference diminishing the SEC. I'm thinking LSU would be much happier in the big 12.

Yes you can
Bama
LSU
Auburn
About as “pro” as you get anywhere in college football. Every division has their ole pisses. Look st the NFC South. Saints, Panthers, Falcons.... then you have the Bucs lol. Same for the AFC North.

Yea. I’m LSU first , SEC second. LSU ranttards that pulled for OSU to get into the dance over Bama make me sick.

I'd take LSU in the Big XII in a heartbeat. Tradition, hates Ags & dominates them and more focused on own accomplishments than SEC, SEC. May have to require bathing standards for some dem swamp folks, but ayeee nuttin betta dan some real cajun cookin. My favrite regional food. Gata and mud bugs are some good eatin (seriously).

Have you ever heard steel sharpens steel(or Iron)?
If the conference opponents you play are doing well, it forces you to keep up or fall behind.
That is the reason why the SEC is so competitive and does so well in winning national titles.
Since 1992, the only two teams that have not won a NC in one of the big three sports is Ole Miss and Mississippi State
