How is that coaching search going?

Knoxville has the river, adjacent hills, and the Smokies nearby.
Fayetteville is in the midst of the Ozarks.
These are the top two

I think it's Fayetteville and I don't think it's really all that close.
Knoxville has probably the only argument, but up close and personal it can look a little dreary sometimes. Think a nicer version of a beat up WV mining town. It definitely is near the top for towns if the conversation is "how aesthetically pleasing are the nearby areas".
I don't know why Athens is being mentioned. Athens is a great town, but it's not a particularly attractive part of the state and Athens doesn't show much of what's available anyway.

Knoxville, I guess? This isn't a travel agency forum. How's the coaching search going?

I mean, honestly do any SEC towns have great natural beauty?
You can't really compete with BYU or a lot of schools out west

Fayetteville followed by Knoxville.

Fayetteville---and that's the end
of any debate, except with those who've
never been to the area.

Me either... I mean I love it. And the general surrounding area within 30 minutes most direction does offer some nice scenery (rivers, rocky outcroppings, etc...) but it's by no means elite in that arena. Have never been to Fayetteville, but per photos and discussion with friends who have, would have to be the leader in the clubhouse.

Yeah, and the other UGA guy is laughing but I don't know why.
I lived in Athens for a few years. Compared with flat/hot nature of Auburn or the just general boringness of College Station, it's probably better. But it's just not remarkable even by a "naturally beautiful GA towns" standard.

Baton Rouge, Scenic Highway, especially around 8 pm when the hookers and pimps are working Rim's World parking lot and the garbage from overflowing dumpsters is spread in the highway like a Kansas wheatfield.

How can you argue with this?

At a minimum these words should not be difficult for a graduate of any university in the SEC. Please try reading first...

Fayetteville isn't just near the Ozarks. It is in the Ozarks.
Elevation in the city itself ranges from 1100 to over 1800 ft.
