Columbia, SC has the state's only National Park, LINK , 3 rivers complete with trout, smallmouth bass, as well as all warm water species. Too many State Wildlife areas to mention.

I got stuck on this bridge for over an hour one day and I really had to piss. Worst bridge experience ever.

I like Georgia and Eastern Tennessee a lot but the Fayetteville area is my favorite.

It's beautiful.

...especially in the fall.

Fayetteville, IMHO. It's in the off end of nowhere, and it's hard to get to from anyplace else in the SEC, but the college campus and location are stunning

You could have detoured and taken the old 190 bridge just 3 miles north. That's what I do, it's not as trafficky.

Beautiful town in each of the four seasons, and unlike Baton Rouge, Gainesville and College Station, the ARE 4 distinct seasons in Fayetteville

Come on Aggies! Post some pics of campus back in the Bear Bryant era.
I believe in the Junction Boys book Bear called CS a "pissant of a town" and his wife cried for a month after arrival.

Baton Rouge, Scenic Highway, especially around 8 pm when the hookers and pimps are working Rim's World parking lot and the garbage from overflowing dumpsters is spread in the highway like a Kansas wheatfield.
Scenic is north of that Florida Blvd/Government Street border that educated BR residents don't venture into. (Nowhere near LSU btw)

And Baton Rouge is a large metropolitan city, not a small and quaint "College Town." Big difference.

Just stay South and off I-10 at rush hour. ( ) You'll be fine...........
