Let's say a coach lands a top 15 class at Arkansas (farfetched). Meanwhile, Ed Orgeron lands a top five class at LSU. The Arkansas coach is being outrecruited within his conference, but is still a really good recruiter, no?
1. The stigma of the death penalty still exists.
2. The admission standards to get into SMU are much harder than Memphis. Getting into Memphis is like being accepted in to Pulaski Tech.

I've been doing a lot of research on Morris the last 24 hours or so since I've heard he was the man and I DO feel quite a bit better about him than I did before.
This is how it should go for most people. Once you read up on Morris beyond googling his name and looking at his SMU record, you'll see what everyone else appears to see from national media to coaching circles.

From what Clay Henry said, his practices are rigorous and very intense. Don’t have anything more than that.

I'm not a Chad Morris fan.
That being stated, he IS what we're looking for if, in my opinion, a bit on the old side. We're much better off with an unproven coach who has a chance to be something special.
I won't have to abandon the program at least, since we didn't hire Malzahn.

Morris' first two classes of recruits at SMU were all from Texas high schools, making SMU the only school in the country with all-Texas recruiting classes during that time.

He isn't wrong though, most of the people that I run into that are negative on his hire only state his record as a compliant.

Pulaski Tech.
I think they closed it down.

I bet we get new ones for sure, new AD and new HC = new uniforms I would think.
If not year 1 then definitely year 2. Not sure how long the process takes, I know the NFL takes at least a year or two.

It fits your shtick elsewhere, so I'm not the least bit surprised you pop in mad wanting to pitchfork like this is reddit. Exactly who you are. Carry on.

Yea I guess this is pretty much where I sit. I used the word "horrible" initially which was a little strong.

I think that is fair, but we have some posters saying they might want Bert back
