That doesn't excuse getting Sanduskied in front of the whole country and not even attempting to fight back.
Let's put this into perspective.
2007 - Acie Law misses a key layup and free throws late and Memphis holds on to win. This was an extreme disappointment because we should have won that game.
2016 - A&M led by 10 early but Oklahoma pulled away. A&M was never in contention during the last 15 minutes of the game.
2018 - A&M was ran out of the gym by a less talented but better coached team.
In 2007, Gillispie's gameplan kept Memphis in check much of the game and it was simply a matter of execution. In 2016 and 2018, we were pushed around by a lesser talented team that not only did we not gameplan against, but knew our tendencies inside and out.

The problem is that Woodward has plenty of ammo to NOT make a change. Two sweet 16's in three years can be justified to the BMA's. Will we match Melvin's ineptitude next season? Probably not. Will the downward slide pick up steam and be rolling down hill by '19-'20? Absolutely.
I do not see any change being made by the AD. Any change in the near future is strictly done by Kennedy.

Idk where everyone gets that we have final four talent on the roster. I mean I get caught up in the koolaid preseason as well, but after 2-3 years we should know who some of these kids are. Almost every player on this team is one dimensional or inconsistent.
Tyler Davis is a stud, period. After that it gets kind of iffy.

If Kennedy has a sub-.500 season and is in the bottom four of the SEC, he's most certainly gone next year.
