In years past this would have made me very sad. I’m taking it in stride, hope Kirby does a better job of keeping them grounded than richt did

Its great that they are ranked 1, the team has played spectacularly and they deserve it. But for some reason it makes me a bit nervous. I feel like you play with a slightly bigger target on your back at number 1, and I just hope the players stay grounded and not let their ranking effect their motivation and preparation for the last quarter of the season.
I don't think this will be a problem with Kirby as coach, but the worry still persists. They just can't let anything change from how they have been doing things thus far.

South Carolina would like nothing better than to beat us at #1..... We are gonna get their best shot. That being said if this staff has this team as focused as they have appeared thus far no one on the regular seasons schedules best shot is going to be good enough

I love it. Now we are going to get every team's best effort so we can open page 2 of the playbook and show out. So far, this team has just been goofing around and blowing out folks.

''We didn't really talk about it, to be honest with you. The leadership group kinda handles it and they do a good job addressing with the players. They relay the message that needs to be taught. We don't really get into it much.'' (Will you watch it?) ''No, I'm working on South Carolina. I won't watch it. I'll be up here till 11:00 watching tape on South Carolina.''
