Crazy to see a team that is so hot in the first half go completely cold in the second. Terrific effort from Knicks to take advantage of the situation when Spurs had obviously tightened up. It’s hard not to like this team.

That being said, 30 pts in a half from an NBA team in the finals is horrendous. That’s like a high school scoreline. This spurs coach seems like he is not very good to be honest. You should be able to manage a 27 pt lead at half to a win, even if your guys have cooled off from the 3 pt line, especially when you have a player like Wemby.
It gives 28-3 (please help me forget) a run for its money, but idk if it is as bad. Hard to compare between basketball and football — no lead is really super safe in NBA with the 3 pt line and how much the momentum can change in just a 4-5 min span.

In football terms I would say this was the equivalent of blowing like a 28 or 31-7 type lead at half. So yeah probably still not as bad as 28-3 lol. Plus this is in a best of 7 instead of a single game winner take all.

Feel bad for Arnoldi, Cobolli, and the fans. Really sucks to have a walk-over in the semi like this. I think everyone was looking forward to the all-Italian semi, even Cobolli who now advances to the final.

End of the road for Montreal. They had a good run though.

They need to sign Dobes to a multi-year contract if he’s not already on one. Guy is really good.
Yeah certain games there can be a large disparity in shots but the game is a little closer than those indicate, but this was not one of those. Montreal was fortunate to get this game to an OT given how much Carolina controlled the game and established the forecheck.
Idk how that’s not a penalty for too many men on the ice.

Some extremely fortunate calls for Montreal this game. The slash that resulted in their pp goal in the 2nd period was extremely soft

I obviously don’t watch much women’s b-ball, but I usually tune in for some of the title game. This one has been a disappointment — total blowout, SCar might not get to 40 pts
That was a nasty crash. Admittedly I was a bit worried even before her run, and then that happened. Tough way to go out there.
Well, Payton will have all off-season to think about leaving those points on the field. They are about to lose 10-7. Don’t get greedy early in football games, analytics be damned — especially in games where points will be at a premium
Why are you bringing up Obama lol? Wtf does he or his immigration policy have to do with this? Obama may have deported 10 million migrants for all I care — but you know what was not routinely happening at the time? We did not have a rogue clan of poorly trained hot heads (who have obviously been given carte Blanche to use whatever force they deem admissible) gun people down in the street.
Going to be hilarious to see all the ‘don’t tread on me’ types bend over backwards to justify the shooting of a guy who was hunched over, being beat up by 6 brown shirts. Lol. Total joke of a polity at this point.
LSU started off hot but the wheels are coming off quickly here now. Could be a tough night.

re: Muschamp to Texas

This is strange. I thought Kwiatkowski was doing a pretty good job, and that Texas’ defense was the strength of their team this season. Granted, Muschamp is a very good defensive coach, but Kwiatkowski being ‘fired’ does not seem reasonable. Perhaps there was mutual interest to go different ways?
Milroe justifiably gets a lot of flack for that game, and he did not play particularly well. But imo Alabama’s center McClaughlin cost them that game in a way. He had numerous bad snaps, including a drive-killing snap either over Milroe’s head or low at his feet that resulted in a 15-20 yard loss that killed a possible scoring drive. This was Alabama’s first drive of 2nd half iirc, and they had the ball just in plus territory, and the offense was moving well. If that horrible snap doesn’t happen and they go down and score there, they probably win the game. A lot of things went wrong for them to blow it.
Classic game. I will never forget that Callaway td on 4th down — it was a real stunner. You almost had to feel bad for UT in that one.
Columbia seems pretty terrible even by Ivy League standards. They will be lucky to score. I guess Harvard has a decent team in the FCS
Lmao, no. Millionaires in NYC are not going to pick up and move to Louisiana b/c their taxes might go up 1-2%. You people are truly delusional.
Brutal loss for the Blue Jays.
They deserve to be chewed out tbh. They also look like they do not give a shite.
This thread is actually pretty damn funny. I enjoy this sort of back and forth bickering.

On a note germane to the conversation here, they do grant car notes to basically anyone now. It’s really not that far out of the galaxy to think that a Wendy’s employee could purchase a mid grade vehicle, or perhaps even a somewhat expensive one - especially if it is a full time employee. It’s probably like the housing bubble in ‘08 but much smaller in scale and less significant, so it won’t wreck the world economy if/when defaults sky rocket, and asset values crater.

Regardless of how Saban retained players, he developed them as well as anybody. People act like other teams didn’t also have a high proportion of blue chips — a lot of the top teams did. Saban just had a system where he got the most out his guys.
Have you read any of this one? Sounds like it has gotten lukewarm reviews — or that people were expecting something more grandiose or ‘of the current time’. Not sure why people thought that though, I guess b/c it is likely his last novel.

I still have Gravity’s Rainbow laying around somewhere. Need to finish it.
