I do think that is the most likely scenario. I also want it to be the scenario, so, I fully admit my judgment is clouded.

Me too on both counts. I will feel MUCH better about the situation if we get through the weekend with nobody declared ineligible.

Meanwhile from the FBI office of strategic operations the chant could be heard outside the soundproof, fire-walled New York office ....
We want Bama. We want Bama.

Have we had anyone arrested by the FBI yet? If not, don't care

The report that revealed nothing substantive to the University's compliance. However, it will be interesting to hear what Baker did.
"Wednesday night, Alabama accepted the resignation of men’s basketball administrator Kobie Baker after an internal review. Baker’s previous job: assistant director of enforcement at the NCAA.
Alabama athletic director Greg Byrne issued the following statement on the matter: “Following yesterday’s reports from New York regarding a Federal investigation of intercollegiate athletics, The University of Alabama Department of Athletics immediately initiated an internal review of our men’s basketball operations. As a result, we have accepted the resignation effective today of Kobie Baker, a men’s basketball administrator. Our review has not identified any NCAA or SEC rules violations nor the involvement of any other coach or staff member. We have notified both of the governing bodies of the actions we have taken. As always, we will continue to be proactive in our compliance efforts.”
Aau ball will be the downfall of college basketball. It was a joke and corrupt from the start. It, hopefully, will be the end of one and dones and just let those kids in the league

Can someone explain to me how Alabama conducted a 24 hour investigation of its basketball program, found no wrongdoing but fired someone?

Guy admits to something from his previous job?
Posted on 9/27/17 at 8:54 pm to TTsTowel
The Byrne statement didn't say anything about the investigation concluding. Said this came up during it, he resigned, no NCAA/legal issues uncovered with it.
I took that as investigation ongoing, this is something they found and immediately made public.

Wasn't one of the FBI targets a former NCAA guy? Either the clothier or the financial advisor?
Posted on 9/27/17 at 8:59 pm to TTsTowel
Olken's clearly not very smart.
It is pretty damned obvious they found something otherwise the guy wouldn't have been fired.
The only question is what did they find and does it involve his time at Bama.

He was with the NCAA before coming to Alabama a year or two ago.

Off topic, and I know that “Pearl Jam” is what Bruce Pearl calls his stupid pep rallies, but...
Are you a Pearl Jam fan by chance? Huge fan here. PJ is the only thing that’ll bring me together with a barner. They are bigger than football.
Inb4 I’m sucking Eddie Vedder’s dick because I would. You all would.
