Never been to Athens and I am looking for some advice on what to do and what to avoid in town, i.e, food, bars, tailgating. Everyone in our group is recently graduated in our 20's. Any help is greatly appreciated. Here's to an injury free game TIA.

User Dick Leverage has already covered this for us...

Don't come into Athens running your fricking trashy mouths to our fans. It is already bad enough that your weaponized autistic coach and his gang of gay porn fluffers is going to get their shite pushed in so far that they will have to clear their throat to fart. Hurricane Kirby has been hanging out in Athens waiting for you punk arse bitches to show up and when your stray mutts take the field the storm of the century is going to rain down upon your mutts hard and vicious like. Your mutts will be whimpering like the little back alley bitches they are. Mother frickers are going to be begging to find shelter under the wrath of this cat 6 Kirbicane. And don't think your Neanderthal arse that looks like you just emerged from a 12,000 year old block of ice is stepping foot in our bars and restaurants after the game. Your fans would do good to keep quiet and be on your way back to Methalsvania after the woodshed arse kicking lest they get atomic weggies on every street corner downtown until you leave. GFY fake Bulldawgs.

Depends on what level of weird you're trying to get

Little to no weirdness, but definitely trying to wake up Sunday morning with some regrets.

Lmao Dick Leverage is likely a trailer park dwelling RED. I cannot believe someone would post that drivel on the internet and think it's witty or funny

I'm the local weirdness expert, but let me refer you to my boy in the regrets department.

Downtown restaurants: Last Resort, Five Bar, Trapeze, Ted's Most Best (pizza), Clocked (burgers), The National, and many more. Mama's Boy and Mayflower are the best breakfast/brunch spots in my opinion.
Bars: Too many to name. My favorites are Allgood, Magnolias, Boar's Head and the Georgia Theatre rooftop. I'd recommend walking around a picking a place that looks good to you.
For watching the game any bar should be good. The Georgia Theatre is free to enter for anyone over 21 on gamedays and they play the game on a massive projector.
Enjoy your time in Athens! Hopefully our alcohol and women will serve as somewhat of a pick me up after we kick your team's arse Saturday night
Here is my post from an earlier thread on this subject. I would also recommend visiting Creature Comforts (brewery located downtown) sometime during your trip.

I can't believe you don't think it is funny.

Don't worry there are plenty of cow fields around Athens.

The World Famous on Hull St. has some good middle to high-end 'bar food' and a fairly extensive drink menu. It is considered the 'hipster' part of town but it is a good spot worth checking out if you want a late night bite to eat.

Get ready to be barked at all day by south Georgia trash or have every coked up SAE try and fight you. Other then that Athens is awesome

South Georgia trash or not, it doesn't hold a candle to the swamp trash of Louisiana at lsu games. MSU fans can attest to that, and should have no worries in handling that of South Georgia.

Speaking for greek life overall:
We'll talk shite with the best of them, but daddy didn't pay for this haircut to have me mess it up.
Also l0l at LSU saying that. You legit had a frat circle of douchery fight between your own fans. Cast boy looked like a champ though.

Did the barking hurt your feelings? Did some mean ole UGA fan call you a Coonass or a corndog?

There's free parking on the lawn at City Hall. Most people don't know about it. If someone says something about it just tell them it's ok.

Is Classic City bar still there? Had some really drunkard moments in there, but it was many years ago. There also used to be a late night diner downtown, where I elbowed a guy in the side of the head for beating on the bathroom door while I was trying to take a leak. Girls were pretty easy to talk to there, and always had a good time.
