Help resolve a debate that is raging on the Mizzou forum.
Who are the bluebloods in each sport?
In roundball I have:

In football:

ND
Nubs
USC
frick MI and Penn State.
That is a short list and should be. What say you?

I will defer to Stewart Mandel:

I would put Michigan as one of just four – along with Notre Dame, USC and Ohio State – that could go 0-12 for the next five years and still not drop (in prestige).

Any poster using the term "blue bloods" should be perma-banned.

Nebraska????????!?
Colorado and Texas killed that program
They couldn't compete with Texas and the Boulder Beatdown 16 years later is still fresh in their memory
With Colorado going west Nebraska went east to a conference they can never compete in

Nebraska ? Not sure they have been revelant since 1997 .... but everyone else was right on .

They're still 4th all time in wins and have 4 AP NCs.

"Elite" is marginally acceptable; the others are as equally stupid as "blue bloods", but not as over-used.

I'm not saying they haven't won a lot , but Harvard and Yale won championships but at some point you no longer hold that mantle... how many decades can you be a non story enen in your own league before the slip is called ?

Oh come on. Harvard and Yale's dominance was forever ago.

Nebraska will never be the same again
It is beyond me how they ever got good.
A lot of it had to do with playing in the Big 8.
Unlike Oklahoma Nebraska does not have a place to recruit.
With this I never think Nebraska will be anything like they were before
I believe they are no longer blue bloods

Ok I went back and looked at their past records and they have been very relevant in the division ... but not in the realm of B.C.S. or January bowl game.
Heck , I would put Florida state in before Nebraska.

Basketball:
Tier 1 Bluebloods: Kentucky, North Carolina, UCLA
Tier 2 Bluebloods: Duke, Kansas, Indiana
Tier 3 Bluebloods: Louisville, UConn, Michigan State
Honorable Mentions: Michigan, Syracuse and probably a few I didn't think about.
Football:
Tier 1 Bluebloods: Alabama, Oklahoma, Notre Dame, Ohio State, USC
Tier 2 Bluebloods: Michigan, Texas, Nebraska, Penn State, Tennessee
Tier 3 Bluebloods: LSU, Auburn, Georgia, Florida, Florida State, Miami
Of course after the past few seasons, Tier 2 and Tier 3 are becoming dangerously close to being merged together all as one.... Most of Tier 2 are currently falling fast.

I think Nebraska, Michigan, Tennessee, and Notre Dame have fallen off this list in recent years, but could easily regain a place in that list if they got their shite together for any extended period of time.

Michigan has won one title in 60 years. If they are a blue blood based on beating preppy white schools, let's included Yale and Harvard, too.
