Div 1 LAX in SEC discussion

I've been watching LAX this weekend and its pretty exciting. I know that Atlanta area and Nashville have become very popular in LAX. Just curious as to why the SEC should just go ahead and have all schools add both mens and women programs. Lacrosse programs usually cost around 1m a year. The SEC is currently paying out around 5m more to their schools than the BIG is.
Why not encourage the schools to earmark 3m a year money for the creation?
Avg attendance is around 3-4k per game nationally.
It would give the SECN more programming options, because I have see the SEC storied on Walker, BO, and RTR-WDE enough i know the history more than i want or need to know.
UF and VU have women, so they would have to add something else as well.
But I think LAX could become a great addition.

It'd be this or men's soccer teams if programs were expanded. But, yes, this would be easier given that there's an equivalent for title IX purposes

Because nobody gives a shite about lacrosse in the sec. It would be just another program taking money instead of making it. Won't happen.

My argument has been that a lot of these G5 schools should stop trying to compete with football and instead start up a Lax program. Considering how popular it is getting in the South they would have a niche that could serve the purpose of getting people to care about their athletics. Imagine if UAB, USA, GSU, ULM, FIU, etc started Lax programs and really pushed them.

I'd like to see it, thought once we got the women's program up and running more SEC schools would join but that hasn't happened. Hopefully we see a men's program added in the not too distant future, it is easier to watch than the women's game with the rule variations.
We built a lacrosse-specific facility, but don't think it is necessary.

If for no other reason than to piss on the ACC by taking their points away in DC and Cap One
Not sure how well it would work in SEC states because it seems to be mostly rich white kids who went to private schools.

Love lacrosse. Would love to see it grow more.

LAX is one of the world's major airports.

Men's rugby would be the next men's sport added at LSU if we could balance the scholarships out. I'm guessing LSU could do that by adding Equestrian along with the existing beach volleyball team.
LSU already has Equestrian as a club sport. A stroke of the pen would make it varsity.

I'd rather have hockey or soccer.

I'd prefer female beach volleyball, down by the river.

Title IX is so damn Out-dated.

If it brings in more money to schools and the sec I say lets do it

Title IX is such a joke due to their being no female equivalent for the number of people involved in football. It just ensures that there are more sports scholy opportunities for women than men. I would love to see men's teams for boxing, rugby, soccer, ice hockey, and lacrosse.
Real SEC hockey with NHL support would be a game changer for the sport. I would love to go downtown to the River Center to watch LSU take on Alabama with a trip to the SEC Championship Game on the line.

I really wish LSU would drop swimming and add lacrosse. Been saying it for a few years now, because it's just a sport LSU has a low ceiling in
