Oh I forgot you're an LSU fan and have insight on Saban's day to day activities. I forgot. Carry on.

Let's just hope he leaves because he hates the decline

It's started already anyway

"You were always on my mind".

Seriously, you bumped a month old thread about Nick Saban because Bob Stoops retired?

He's fit and doing a job he loves. I can't see CNS retiring to fish or golf. I think he could coach at least until he's 80 or even 85. Maybe 90. With medical advances, 3D printing, and endless cash; CNS may coach in perpetuity.

This had me rolling haha

I think he signed the extension because at the present moment he really forsees himself coaching until 2025.
I think a lot of it depends on his health, and his success level.
He loves football more than anything, but he also hates losing.
He won't retire without another NC though

I can see him doing some ESPN broadcasting when he is done.

I don't at all honestly. Don't think he'd want to

I feel like coaching kinda keeps the man alive, so who knows. He could retire within the next 6 years or so, or pull a Bobby Bowden/Joe Pa and stick around in the coaching world well into his 80s.

He's got 5* athletes 3-deep at every position and a machine that funnels him more and more of them every year.

Meanwhile, because of that, the SEC coaching talent has turned over and we have less talent in the league for him to compete against. He ain't going anywhere anytime soon. I could see him sticking around to get 350-360 wins.

The drop off in the SEC quality coaching is dramatic once you get past NS.

“As long as I feel good, I love doing it,” Saban said Thursday morning. “I’ve said this before: I’ve been a part of a team since I was nine years old. It scares me to death to figure what it’s going to be like when I’m not a part of a team.

“So, as long as I feel good and I’m healthy and I can do it, we certainly have every intention of trying to do it. If I felt like I couldn’t do it to the standard that I want to do it, then I think that would be time not to do it. But I certainly don’t feel like that’s any time soon.”

It'll all be up to his mindset. He may get like Spurrier and start to get a somewhat apathetic attitude and decide he could enjoy himself.
While that statement is completely correct, this is Nick Saban we're talking about. I think he'd rather be analyzing film during the offseason, than attending his own kids' graduation.

This isn't an attack on the man, I think it's just who he is. He's found what he loves, and I believe he's aware enough to know he will likely decline within a year of retirement, out of depression and lack of interest.

I take the over.

Saban has 205 wins and is 118 wins from Coach Bryant. He could do that in 12 years.
