He's going to LSU

I know we offered him, but I haven't seen much reciprocated interest reported by our sites. We're constantly in need of linebackers that can step on the field right away though.

This is the biggest group of offers to the STL area that LSU has made since I've been following recruiting, around 20 years now.

I was listening to Frank Cusimano one day when he had the old SLUH coach on and Cornfeld talked about some guy at LSU that used to coach at Illinois and recruit St Louis heavily. Last name is McCann I think. I've not been able to find any information about him or what he does at LSU.

He's going to be in Columbia for the spring game tomorrow.

No, but Josh Heupel should be a hype guy. He's cut from the mold of Mike Martz.

Why aren't they turning him loose? If he's got stick skills (good talker) he'd be gold on the TV / radio circuit.

Powell, Brooks and Davis will be there as well to help recruit. I thought I read somewhere that Thompson was going to be there but haven't seen a list of the 2018 class attendees.

Good shape with

Thompson
Trout
Brown

Guess not such good shape.

I get the arguments for (a state with absolutely nothing else to do beyond go to games, more trophies, better facilities) but I just don't get the draw to the Nubs in today's game. They're just not what they used to be and play in a conference that is not a good fit for them.

Fans, facilities, trophies of PAST National Championships, etc.

The Nubs spring game was the same day as Mizzou's and they had a lot of 4* players and a few underrated 3* players like Brown there. Brown couldn't make it, but he was already sold on the Nubs. Plus his former teammate rb Tre Bryant is there from last year. Now they want Babb.

They are trying to up their recruiting and trying to get back to their glory days.

This renewed thread is just too much troll bait anymore. Let's just say "few, if that many."

I almost feel sorry for the kid. I have been in Nebraska in the winter. He has no idea what is in store for him.

The reason Nub fans travel so well to away games is that Nebraska really, really sucks. There is nothing to do but watch football.

Memorial Stadium on game day is the third largest city in Nebraska.

Hah. Just winter in NE? Man, I lived in that shite hole for four years. Nothing to do year round really. Boring and flat AF. I don't see the appeal there at all.

Don't even have the hot coed excuse for players. They haven't even been relevant for at least ten years in anything.

True. I've got a lot of family up there, and had to spend time with cousins that had nothing to do. Great steakhouses up there, but that's it. Low unemployment up there probably because if you didn't have a job you might die from boredom. Big Red football is huge because it has a population center with few other options.

Yet, they'll have more fans at their spring game than we will have with our largest crowd during the regular season.

You're thinking of Daniel Parker I think. Parker had committed to us early and then decommitted

What's best case scenario at this point? Parker sticks and we get Thompson? I don't think we are really in it for Babb but haven't heard anything recently.
