To be honest, and I know I am like the 400th reply to this thread, I simply love football. Tiger net is the premier Clemson sports board and I am a regular there as well, however there is a TON of legitimate discussion in this board. Tiger Net also has a lot of threads on other teams and issues as well, and while they might be a tad biased (of course!), there are legitimate football and sports discussions as well.
At SECRant there are multiple threads about different teams as well, not just sec. I notice we both have some trollers (what board doesn't...) but many of them are just good laughs as well. I am also someone that enjoys funny pics and gifs, this board does not disappoint. While I understand some of the hate when us Clemson fans post, I do like to just read differing opinions on sports and try to see why some people think and feel the way they do.
Simply put I love sports and football in particular. The threads are informative and funny most of the time.
But seriously, after I look at tigernet, would you honestly expect me to go to a B1G or Ohio state board?!??!?!

people up north coem down to SC to vacation at the beach and many of them want to go to college here as a result. so they look to see what the colleges are in SC and Clemson is the 2nd largest one.
It's because the schools up there where they are from are expensive as hell. They come down for the cheaper schools and better weather. I know, because USC has all of these students too. And I'm sure it's safe to say a lot of SEC/ACC schools do. Ohio, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania. I see these license plates around Columbia daily.

Yeah but most of that NJ trash come down to SEC schools because they are cheaper than going to Rutgers/Princeton instate.

no. It's because they want to experience nicer weather and fun.
No one is turning down Princeton to come to USC. Odds are those kids coming here aren't getting into Princeton.
And Rutgers is just shite.
Then after that NY and NJ are just a bunch of small private schools. They don't really have large p5 schools with football teams like the South and Midwest have.
Say what you want, but Sports programs have a HUGE factor in kids going to their schools.

I know many KY folks who are Duke alumni in medicine, law, and business. Duke was Trinity before Duke gave them money (in the Depression Era if memory serves) and they renamed it. Since then the northern invasion has displaced the original southern base. Vanderbilt was similar in that the old man never visited the place and just sent a million dollar check for what would now be sold as "naming rights".

I'll take a swing at this.
1. I am a member of several forums. If the conversation is interesting I will chime in. I read a lot of the threads here. I guess that makes me a lurker.
2. I don't like to dwell on Tnet and other Clemson-specific forums. Preaching to the choir is fine, but I like variety.
3. There are not a lot of quality ACC themed boards. There is only one other forum that has a small but very engaged group of fan from the ACC and SEC and that is "Southern Pigskin". It is designed for Southern Sports but is mainly ACC fans. Just not big enough base.
4. Reading post from South Carolina fans is comic gold. It is nice to see that their Women's Basketball and Men's Baseball teams have a more impressive trophy case than men's football.
5. It is a bit mesmerizing to watch the SEC fans act like a Cult loyal to the Conference and not the team. Sorry-arse programs in the SEC think they are meaningful as long as the post an SEC logo on their asses.

I pretty sure most of the board hates you so you would have to block a lot of people. Again I don't much of a problem with the other non-SEC posters, just you.
