So, breaking down Browning's performance this year

Browning has a ton of TDs. 42 passing to be exact.
However, he's only gone over 300 yards three times this year vs. 5-7 Cal, 5-7 ASU, and 4-8 Oregon. All three of those teams average #85 or worse in Pass D. In fact, Arizona State, where Browning threw for 334 yards, is 128/128 in pass yardage per game given up. So breaking it down fully:
Browning stats vs. pass defenses ranking:
#85 California: 378 yards, 6 TDs
#114 Oregon: 304 yards, 6 TDs
#128 ASU: 338 yards, 2 TDs, 2 INTs
Alright so greater than 200 yards but less than 300:
#17 Rutgers: 287 yards, 3 TDs, 1 INT
#44 Oregon State: 291 yards, 3 TDs
#53 Stanford: 210 yards, 3 TDs
#63 USC: 259 yards, 1 TD, 2 INTs
#112 Idaho: 294 yards, 5 TDs
#121 Washington State: 292 yards, 3 TDs
Less than 200 yards:
Vs. FCS Portland State (sat out end of game): 163 yards, 4 TDs
#13 Colorado: 118 yards, 2 TDs
#101 Utah: 186 yards, 2 TDs, 1 INT
#116 Arizona: 160 yards, 2 TDs, 1 INT
So, basically, while his TDs have been insane, his yardage on the field is actually relatively tame, considering the defenses he has faced. And considering Florida's QB just threw for 250 yards and Alabama won by 38 points, I like Alabama's chances.

I don't give two shits. Alabama should. that's the only truth.

Browning appears to be the LF of QBs.

Also I found what could possibly be a common thread for why he performed so badly against Utah, Arizona and Colorado.
Browning was sacked 4 times vs. Arizona, a team that only had 22 sacks this year. Clearly the pressure was there that night.
Utah sacked Browning twice during their game, but they rank #8 in CFB in sacks with 40 this year. Pressure again.
Colorado ranks #20 with 35 sacks, and they sacked Browning three times in that game.
Browning has only been sacked 20 times this season, 9 of which came in those three games that he threw for less than 200 yards.
The only loss vs. USC Browning was sacked 4 times, and had a safety for a loss of 5 yards running, meaning he was essentially sacked.

ESPN rigged it. Bama won't have to play their starters in the second half. Good news is Clemson Is much deeper and rested this year. You were a lot deeper than us last year and our two key defensive players went down. It will be Mich St. all over again. Spread has to be a double digit minimum.

Yep. Plus we have the refs in our pockets. Your team is fricked.

Well I don't see a Vegas spread ever getting to triple digits but I get your point.

Clemsoning is a thing....

Browning doesn't throw that much actually, so looking at yards per attempt and attempts per TD would probably be more accurate. He's only had more than 30 attempts twice this season.
To put it in perspective, Browning has only thrown 16 more passes than Hurts this season and Hurts didn't start the USC game (only threw 11 passes that game). So he throws pretty much the same amount that Hurts does.
ETA: 10 of the games have been blowouts though and he hardly threw the ball in the 2nd half of those games which could make some stats misleading too.

Any analysis done on passing yards is probably a waste of time...when it pertains to a fairly low volume QB like Jake Browning it's especially worthless.

Pretty much this. They like to be balanced and like to run and control clock.
This one is about not allowing first downs and taking advantage of mistakes...that's been Bama's game all year though.

You can list all the stats you want but here's one thing that can't be overlooked.
He's a COBRA.

what does THIS have to do with the SEC
shite man take this opponent specific shite to the Bama board, that's why Chicken created it so us normals wouldn't have to wade thru the Bama shite 24/7
Thanks!

These numbers are skewed for the way they count the jet sweep as a pass play. Take that away and he has far less passes, and on the flip side, far less completions.
I don't believe you'll find a Bama fan disputing who has the better arm.

OK, but I'm going to RA every post on here about LSU's bowl game.

UW will be the best team y'all have faced all year. It's not just their QB, their whole team is loaded with Sark talent, but coached by Boise St coaches. Y'all are going to have to be ready, they can beat y'all.

I'm not at all worried about their talent, but I do think Peterson is a great coach. All this "Bama is an NFL team" talk from him is calculated to feed the media.
I don't expect it, but if Bama comes out with the 2008 Utah mentality, they will lose. But this defense is made up of monsters who want to kill and eat every team, inferior or not. So, I think that side of the ball will play well.
