Quality talent including Great QBs in Texas
There isn't a single Texas team in the Top 25 at the time. It's time people realize Texas talent isn't all that it's cracked up to be. That's not to say some really good player aren't born there but not to the extent people pretend.

But what really did us in was Sumlin's complete failure to recruit O-line talent. He lived off Mike Sherman's O-line recruiting for four years, which covered up his deficiencies in this area. As the Cowboys have shown in the NFL, a great offensive line makes everyone look better--even your defense, by limiting their exposure and putting the opposition in predictable passing situations.

The thing about Texas talent is they get such good coaching for so long that about half of them have peaked by the time they are 19.

Damn.

I do not buy that Texas talent is not all that, this seems to be a reflection of coaching.

Gotta be kidding me. Talent is abundant but getting siphoned off by other states. Not being developed by the buttfricks at teasip u or atm.
Thanks for hurts by the way.

It's not the athletes. We have a lot of TX athletes. The current state of TX college football is a result of what happens when arrogance, unearned swagger, and image-based appeal over substance collides with the reality of one's incompetence.

you know ive lived here for 11 years, been to plenty high school football games... they have no size here, never have.. I remember playing West Monroe, Oauchita, Neville, Catholic, St. Aug every year and they were huge.. the only thing bigger in texas is the stadiums and the pressure.. I still think there are better athletes and better DLineman in LA.. nothing but a bunch of pre-Madonna punks here, thats all mack brown recruited and look where it got them..
