The Sugar Bowl: really?

So SEC is guaranteed a spot.
Why?
I thought they wanted to get away from this type of thing when multiple 10 win SEC teams went to Citrus or whatever.
After we get boat raced by cowboys or Sooners, I guess the PTB will reexamine the contract.
8 and 4. No pulse on offense.

Per a contract between the SEC & the S.Bowl, it has to take the highest ranked SEC team beyond any team in the playoffs. So it is a black & white decision, not political or any other BS.

Auburn, UT, UF, and A&M will all have the same record, 8-4. LSU is 7-4. Auburn will be highest ranked. Sorry, you got Sugar.

There has been a contract of some kind since 1975 with the SEC. Only if the SEC champ was in the BCS champ or the playoff would the "next" best rep go to the Sugar. Before the BCS the SEC champ went to the Sugar Bowl, period.
It could still be Florida depending on how far they fall. If Florida wins they are in the Sugar.

There are only two great coaches in the country. The rest of the SEC coaches are good, but it is not a league to have a weakness. It gets exposed.

Correct. And when you had both of those great coaches in your league, they're who won the overwhelming bulk of all of your NTs over the last several years. It makes a difference.

The OU defense is ranked 91...91. WE are ranked 71, for fricking real.
You won't have a problem scoring. They also have faced exactly two top 50 defenses all year and lost both games.
Auburn should seriously show up for that game and should destroy OU assuming most of your minor injuries heal up by then.

With our D we will always have a chance. They put our O in a position to upset bama in the 1st half before they wore down due to over exposure.
The question will be can our O figure it out. I agree the OU D isn't as strong as the D's that gave us the most issues. However, our O without KP and SW picking up the occasional 3rd and medium is pretty pathetic. I still believe if the coaches would take the training wheels off JFIII he would be as serviceable as SW, but they don't seem to want to do that.
