He'll have better run than BigBert. Don't think it'll be any worse than Miles last 3 full seasons. Was never convinced Herman was the savior that many LSU fans believed and they may have dodged a huge bullet.

As an LSU fan I'm in "wait and see" mode.
Frankly I think he's going to be better than Les, but is that really a big deal? We were shooting for MUCH better than Les. I think it's very telling that even Purdue passed on Miles. If Les can do what he did here, I think O can certainly do the same.

Orgeron did well at USC after Kiffin. I think Orgeron is more proven that Herman. Just don't see how people are so desperate over a guy that lost to Navy, SMU, and Memphis. This is crazy talk. LSU might be dodging a bullet.
Honest assessment.
100% agree. Herman will be sumlin 2.0. don't wanna pay 6mil for that

I'm not gonna lie. I wanted fisher, and thought Herman had huge upside, but you can't pay top 5 money to a guy like Herman.
Tamu learned that the hard way.

About as well as he did at Ole Miss.

About 5-7 or 6-6 every year.

Can he recruit a good QB? He'll recruit the same blue chip defensive players and skill position guys as Miles and get them on campus. Miles never found a quarterback or an offense capable of producing against the best competition.
In less than a full season, Orgeron showed more willingness to adapt than Miles displayed in over a decade. I could see him being an upgrade over Les if he can recruit a QB and put the right guys on his staff to develop that QB.

He'll be solid with the right OC hire. There won't be a dropoff in talent. He'll keep players motivated.

In the end LSU got michiganed , had a coach then lost him , because as we all know "loose lips sinks ships " . AC/DC was preaching this in the 80's .

8-4 coach just like the rest of the coaches in the SEC not named Saban

I wasn't excited about Herman as many were, Jimbo was a safe choice. Alleva hasn't hired a good coach in any major sport. I'm cautiously optimistic. I think O will do well with good coordinators.

Maybe like Miles, but at half the cost.
