but I think he jumped the tracks a couple of times this season and fixated on making something work that wasn't going to work.
He totally derails sometimes and I believe it's just a case of trying to overthink the situation. He definitely doesn't understand the thought of, if it isn't broke, why fix it.

Gustav gets a 6 or 7 from me.
It appears now that Steele was a great hire for our situation, as our defense is performing better than it has in over a decade. Our offense has been decimated by injuries/transfers/suspensions, and yet at times has excelled - but lack of quality depth at key positions has killed us at times (UGa and most likely in the IB). This is entirely the fault of poor talent evaluation/development which is always on the HC's shoulders. We should never have come into the year with only one decent option at QB.
That said, we are most likely going to finish 8-4, ranked around #20, and headed to a decent mid-tier bowl. Given all that's happened I'm okay with that. But we should definitely be competing for the SECC in 2017, and if we finish with less than 10 regular season wins I will be ready to make a change.

6.5 he has to start recruiting better and up grade his staff. He needs to stop over thinking the play calling and keep doing what works seems to be a problem a lot of coaches have .
How awesome would it be if we brought Strong back to replace Collins?

I'm about 7.5 with CBB at the moment. Would have given him a 9 before season started.
Even though we still have a chance to continue the streak of improving our season W-L record each year of his tenure, that's a little deceiving on the progress of the program.
I actually think we took a little step backwards this season. The four losses that we have, we didn't show up, weren't really competitive in.
OL has been largely a disappointment, just now beginning to show signs of coming together. Depth there is a problem, to the point that we had to start a D lineman at left guard. That falls on recruiting.
LB talent and depth is about 1/2 of what it should be. Again, recruiting.
Overall defensive play, even with 9 starters back, has regressed this year, except maybe for corners.
Something coaching-wise has got to give there. Something major, as in a new DC, although I feel Robb Smith was hamstrung somewhat with the LB situation.
Still solidly in CBB's corner, but need to see some changes made soon.

Same number as our winning streak against Tennessee, Margin of Victory over LSU, and whiskey papa 's IQ.

7.5- Kirby has gone 7-4 so far and if we for some reason lose against tech then he'd have the same amount of wins as Richt did his first year. He's shown that he can win the big games and is recruiting with the best of them, UGA has the #3 SEC recruiting class and in the top ten.

8. Getting this team to a bowl game is crazy good. I was down on the here but he has really impressed me so far.

7 for UGA. I expected to lose 3 or more games this year. I don't like having 4 losses, especially when one loss was to Vandy. No offense to Vandy or their fan base. Vandy played to win and we played without enthusiasm or heart... Thus the loss

6 -With our talent we should win the NC every year. Not every other year. Damnit!!!

8.5 to 9 with Bielema.
A bunch of folks were treating this year as a no-problem, we're going to improve season, when this is the season we should have seen maximum regression to the mean-- and to some extent, it did happen. This is a team that did so well answering some of its questions (Quarterback and Cornerback) that the elephants in the room (OL and LB) were not considered serious issues, but that proved to be season-long issues.
The Greenlaw injury in particular, could have served to completely undo the back half of the season; instead, the team managed to win 3 conference games-- Ole Miss, Florida, and MSU on the road- and is set for a chance to win @ Missouri.
That's a pretty remarkable result, all things considered. We've seen what has happened to other teams when their indispensable players have gotten hurt (Chad Kelly, Trevor Knight)-- they regressed to the point of ruining seasons.

I'd go 5. He has shown he has the ability to win football games. His biggest wins without Johnny though are Tennessee 2016 and Mississippi State 2015. That's pretty bad. He doesn't have a ton of horrible losses, but two of them did come this month. I think 5 is about right. He will be at a 4 or a 6 after Thanksgiving.

I'm about 7.5 to 8. Back to back ATL trips is pretty good.
If Mac ups his recruiting game ill be in the 9s

Not really certain. I'm happy with the yearly progress but the jury is out. I want to see the offseason changes and whether or not he can break through.
ETA: Hate his butchbot act and would give anything for him to act like a human in pressers but it's clear that ain't happening and I don't think he'll ever trust the press enough for it to happen.

I expect a few years of abysmality (rights reserved), followed by a few years of mediocrity and then we see if we've got anything worth having long-term.
