we shouldnt think so highly of ourselves. florida and clemson both hired coordinators and made new years bowls with them.

Florida? McElwain was the head coach at Colorado state. And dabo was the interim coach before taking over the spot. They were both given a chance to show they can run the program before taking over

Florida and Clemson have non-geriatric fans that saw their team win their last national championship.

Best coach A&M has had in the last 30 years had no head coaching experience when he was promoted from being a DC.

And he was someone who had spent decades in the program. I'd be fine with promoting someone in house if they have been here for a while and knows how the program runs

i was referring to muschamp, who despite ended up getting fired (from a better program than A&M) he had a better season than we've had in 2 decades. And Dabo was like .500 during his interim stint in an incredibly weak ACC.

I must have missed that.

I'm not going to check in just yet. I'd like to see how everything plays out after the season as far as who is available. To be honest, I don't like anyone who is out there. No candidate out there currently scream "SEC" ready.
There is still a small part of me that would argue that if Sumlin can land Stidham and a few star linebackers, then I'm willing to wait and see.

I would take the Aranda Kliff combo in a second. Aranda knows and understands physical football. Surround him with the right people and I think he could be excellent. I would also love Fleck

Do we have any fans who were alive in 1939?

I dunno... if Kingsbury is out at Tech (and he might be if you go check the beatdown he is getting from ISU) I would maybe be willing to hire him as OC and give Sumlin one more year.
No. I don't want Stumblin in college station at all. Under any circumstance.
