EDIT: I'm ready, I've been ready, but I'm not sure it's the smart move to get rid of him this season unless the new ad knows exactly who he wants, and if he can get him.

The counter argument would be that if you let sumlin stick around and he essentially becomes a lame-duck coach it could set the program back. I just don't know which move is riskier, keeping sumlin another year or committing at least 4+ years to a possible poor coaching hire because you couldn't get your first choice? That's why I don't get paid the big bucks.

I dunno... if Kingsbury is out at Tech (and he might be if you go check the beatdown he is getting from ISU) I would maybe be willing to hire him as OC and give Sumlin one more year.

Aranda is an interesting option. young, hungry, defensive minded coach. id be on board but you know our boosters are too dumb and arrogant to settle for (even a great) coordinator.

We aren't a program where you go to get your first head coach gig. I'm sorry but we just aren't
