This is all you have left. It's really sad. You're 3-3 in a borderline P5 conference in a season long fight for bowl eligibility while your inbred, relatively poor, East Texas farmer brother is in a top ten matchup with #1 Alabama. So you're here trolling our own conference board with this while also hoping there's a shred of truth to it. I kind of feel bad for our former rival's fans

I'm OK with this. Bring in Oklahoma, too.
Adds some spice to our schedules.
Screw all you scaredy cats.

Let's say in some crazy hypothetical world we did add Texas. What would happen to the LHN?
Really, that's what you want to know? Not, who would move East/how would the alignment work? Or, would we still split money evenly? But rather, what the frick would happen to television in Texas???

Secrant would not be the same.

It won't happen.
One thing OP refuses to admit to himself is the longer we stay in the SEC the more the SEC (which Texas already didn't like because of their success and Arky) becomes "the enemy." The actual people in sway at Texas won't pine for the SEC because to do so is to admit we were right and admit we had a better idea than them. Their arrogance knows no boundary so instead they will spend the most of the next decade building up a hateboner for the SEC and then when the Bug 12 ends convince themselves that flying all their teams to the rust belt or the west coast is a better fit than the rednecks down the street.

Our network is going to die. More money in the SEC. Our schedule is dog shite. Can you imagine Texas back on top and playing those match ups on the SEC main stage? Would be far more profitable for the conference than second rate poor aggy.
The conference is very profitable right now and will do nothing but grow revenue in the future.
We don't need you, we already have a Aggie representing the Texas market. So you aren't needed and you aren't wanted.

Congratulations on feeling good about your relevance while the rest of the world laughs at you. That's not easy to do, and I applaud you for it...while I laugh at you.

10 of the top 17 most profitable athletic departments reside in the SEC and 5 of the top 9. That's just unfair.

Not exactly a cultural fit

Umm... two problems.
1. Your own damn school won't accept membership if it is offered, because they won't be running things.
2. SEC Bylaws
*3.1.2 Granting of Membership. Membership may be granted by invitation of the Conference at a meeting of the Chief Executive Officers. A vote of at least three-fourths of the members is required to extend an invitation for membership.
So you need 11 yea's to get in. That means 4 schools can nix it. Automatic no votes that will not be swayed (they're here, after all, because of UT politics): A&M, Arkansas, Missouri. Out of Ole Miss (remember the LHN fiasco? I guarantee Ole Miss fans do), MSU, and LSU there's at least one more no vote and I'm guessing 3.
It ain't gonna happen.

Agreed. Herbie was right. They are a cesspool. Texas maybe the most arrogant, selfish, entitled program in the country. The crap they pulled in the big12 with their Longhorn TV network and the way they've treated fellow coference members (especially our new Aggie friends) is all I need to know. We already got the class of Texas with A&M. Texas is nothing but trouble. We don't need or want the longhorns.

Yep, joining the SEC was quite advantageous.

My post was a direct response to the horn who said the "poor Aggies" aren't as profitable as is UTex.
My apologies if I came off as a blowhard.

That is hyperbole. The Big 12 splits the majority (tier 1 & 2) of the TV money evenly, the only thing special Texas gets is LHN money.
LSU could probably EASILY have a LSU Network to milk the state if they wanted just like Texas. It would probably earn close to LHN money (and therefore SEC money) but the production values and distribution outside of LA would be crap. Plus a lot of your bigger games end up on Fox Sports One, that is the real issue.
